I thought Scarlet was off-key and flat. Everyone else seemed to enjoy her. I didn't actually pay much attention to the show to be honest. Bella and Shan were the only people I really enjoyed.

That shows that Abba is best left to the professionals Someone far more musical than me once told me that ABBA songs are notoriously hard to sing. Can’t remember why for the life of me.

Scarlet has zero chance. Louis Tomlinson has a huge fan base and they all vote for his boys in an attempt to please him. I will trust that they will pick Dalton over Anthony.

Even the late great Freddie Mercury hardly ever performed Don't Stop Me Now in his lifetime as it is a very wordy and fast song and he preferred other Queen songs.

Watching on +1 (was silly to start the final so that it clashed so heavily with Strictly when viewing figures are already very low)

Remember when they used to get people like Beyoncé for the final? This year it’s James Arthur and that bloke who shouts “I will leave a light on” until you want to cut your own ears off.

It was a very dull part one to the final
Dalton didn't sing well in his duet - but I still expect him to win

I remember seeing a documentary about Abba a few years ago on ITV, where Pete Waterman was discussing recording some Abba songs with (I think) Steps. He mentioned that it was only when they started looking at the music (and running through it) to Dancing Queen that they realised how difficult it was to sing - the issue being the vocal range needed.

It was a very dull part one to the final Dalton didn't sing well in his duet - but I still expect him to win The XF Final duets often seem to be a bit of a dog's breakfast - lack of rehearsal time, songs that sometimes have parts that are outside the XF Finalist's vocal range (I think both Dalton and Scarlett suffered a bit of this - when Scarlett started singing Angels, I thought she was going to end up either screeching or singing notes so high only dogs would be able to hear) and that weird pause during the song to introduce the duet partner, which breaks the flow of the song! I think Anthony had the easiest job of the three - he just had to keep shouting "Leave the light on!" The group song at the beginning with Robbie W was OK - Gio sounded great. He really should have been in the final with Dalton and Scarlett. The XF final used to be a huge event. My mum used to be an avid viewer, but now even she's stopped watching. It's all a bit low rent, now.

I wasn't watching last night but I heard something about Simon slagging off Fleur East? Like he was praising the Scarlett girl and didn't want her to end up drinking worm juice in the jungle?
Funny coming from him who put Fleur onto his record label then failed to make her a global megastar. Also he's probably jelly about IACGMOOH's ratings compared to his now train wreck of a programme.
Can't believe at one time in my life I used to like this git.

WTF was that noise?
Anthony screaming and shouting.
That is supposed to be his winner's single??? FFS

And who told Ellie Goulding that she could sing?
That was really quite painful

Dalton bounced back with his duet with James Arthur - He is a classy vocalist (and could easily play Jesus in JCS)

It is rather good to see Robbie performing with Take That
They seem to be having a good time together - which is infectious

So Dalton is our winner. Surprise surprise. Waiting for those voting stats to see whether Danny Tetley was leading every week up until his eviction.

The voting stats are always interesting. It is a shame that the BBC won't do the same with Strictly. People pay to vote - so they should surely have a right to see the numbers

I and many others have kicked up about Freedom of Information regarding Strictly results, and the BBC always copy and paste the exact same response "We are not required to release the exact voting figures so therefore do not disclose them." Something along those lines.

Something along those lines. The BBC never reveal the voting stats for anything. It would have been interesting to see the ones for the Casting Shows (Maria/Joseph/Nancy/Dorothy), but when some people did the FOI thing, they were told the same as above. Very annoying! The XF Voting Stats are out:- XF Voting StatsNow we know why Simon changed the rules for the Final (keeping the three finalists in for both shows, rather than, as originally planned, having an elimination at the end of Saturday's show). It would also explain why Anthony was on during the overlap with Strictly on both nights!

It was a no brainer that Dalton would win. He certainly had the best winners single. The Power of Love is a great song and the duet version was a very good interpretation.

It was closer than I had anticipated - but am pleased with the end result.
The highlight of the night was Take That (even though their voices are shot to pieces!)
