For me the music is actually the strongest part of it, it's the characters and story that let it down!

So the final show is tomorrow in Norwich, anyone else going to be in attendance? I’m currently on my way up there all the way from Cardiff which I guess tells you how much this show means to me! I wrote at length about my feelings for the show on here before when the London run was abruptly ended by covid, I’m so happy this tour did manage to happen in the end and I got to spend another year following my favourite show around the country a bit. It’s fair to say that Waitress never really caught on over here the way it did on Broadway but it still closes with a lot of big fans. I’d love nothing more than to have the show back in London soon or another tour but I have a feeling this is the last we’ll see of Waitress as a big professional production for a bit now. Just looking forward to having a proper closing night this time and saying a fond farewell to a show that has been a huge part of my life for the past 3 years.

It really seems that the cast members past and present have such an admiration for this show. I have no doubt it will be back at some point.

When the amateur rights are released I can see this show being done by just about every theatre group, and I for one cannot wait!

It actually will be on streaming services next Tuesday. over here as well?! That I don’t know. It will never make sense to me in the age of instant uploads and downloads that release dates are still spaced out the way they are. Anyone with a VPN or even Google will be able to find it next week. They’re really just hurting themselves by not releasing it everywhere.

(For what it's worth) and for anyone interested, the pro-shoot production is available to view on YouTube. I watched it last night.
Very well filmed and towards the end, when Jenna is in the hospital having just given birth, she's holding a real baby!

We can’t link to full length bootlegs here. To find the proshot search for it on the Sci-fi Rock Psychedelic channel.

I doubt it unfortunately. The last one did not sell well at all apparently. It’s never taken off in the UK the same way it did in America.

Anyone else see this yesterday? I thought it pretty terrific and SO superior to the West End production in which Ms McPhee sang superbly but was otherwise dead!

I seem to remember discussion about Kat McPhee’s appearance at the time being outlawed, despite it being the single reason her performance wasn’t able to leave her frozen face. She did, however, sound glorious.

Merged.
Let’s let’s leave comments about the actors personal appearance out of it please.
Who is playing Jenna in the broadcast version? Honestly I saw this at the Adelphi and I have no idea who I saw in that role which is crazy.
ETA ok it’s Sara Bareilles in the proshot. Still no idea who I saw.

KMP was iconic and easily the best thing about this production. (Which otherwise I really didn't see what the fuss was about. The book and cliched characters were dire IMHO).
Her Patti LuPone impression still lives in my head rent free.
