So happy to see David back, no one does Pomatter like him for me! You can tell how much he loves the show too.

Waitress UK tour have cancelled their Inverness dates, 5th-9th April. I suspect due to ticket sales. Excellent. I had plans to see it in Inverness on the 5th… urgh. Yes, it's frustrating. I received an email from Eden Court this morning, as I'd booked tickets as a Christmas present for my mum. I had wondered if this was going to happen though, as I checked the website last week and it hadn't sold well.

David is excellent in everything and I’ve seen Wendy in many things over the years and she has always been great too.

David was really good in the role from all the past praise which came his way on here when he was in West End run so getting him back for part of the tour is great.

I never even checked the other days but I was planning on seeing it on the Tuesday and it sold relatively well. It’s going to Glasgow the following week so we’re going to try and catch it then as we’re only in Fort William, although we DID check how well it’s selling there and it’s not ideal so good knows if I’ll even get to see it in Glasgow.

Saw the understudies perform at Playhouse on Saturday, they messed up a few times but I know they had limited time to prepare. Wasn't too pleased with the performances though, seen Waitress 3 times and this was the worst (but still good) cast

Having watched it at the Adelphi, it was a great night out at the theatre but last nights viewing at the Liverpool Empire really was a mixed bag. Chelsea Halfpenny was fantastic as Jenna but Matt Willis just didn’t work for me as Dr P. I just didn't see any on stage chemistry between Chelsea and Matt. Seeing David Hunter’s portrayal as the Dr was a fun watch both in his line delivery and physical comedy, Matt on the other hand just left me cold. I had no issue with his singing (a great voice) but felt the acting was just very monotone and lacked a lot of the comedy I think is needed in that role. I just wasn’t invested emotionally in their relationship.
I loved George Crawford as Ogie and Wendy Mae Brown had plenty of laughs as Becky.
Having a read of the posts from other members who have seen the tour have noted sound issues in the tour and these don’t appear to have been sorted. I certainly had a lot of issues trying to hear what Matt and Evelyn Hoskins as Dawna were saying (at times it just sounded like alot of mumbling)and I was sat 10 rows from the front in the stalls. On the other hand other hand I didn’t have any sound issues with any of the other cast last night.
The score was great to listen to again. I’ll never get tired of listening to SUTBM which is just a great powerful number.

It's interesting how we all have such different opinions. I always found David to be too OTT for my liking, but I love Matt's more "quiet awkward" rather than "outwardly awkward" interpretation, and the more subtle take of the tour cast as a whole. I felt the whole London production played up the comedy in a way that wasn't my favourite, and the tour cast made me feel more.

I've seen this tonight at the Liverpool Empire, and it was amazing!
Matt Willis was a very pleasant surprise - I thought he was spot on.
Chelsea's rendition of 'She Used To Be Mine' was very moving. She is fantastic!
The whole cast and band were outstanding!
Merchandise-wise - they did not have any 'She's messy'-tshirts.

I personally preferred David’s more physical comedy, and I think he is a better actor and singer than Matt (who is also very good but in a different, calmer and understated way) . However, I think the show’s feeling and impact depends on the chemistry between whoever is playing Jenna and Dr. P collectively. The incredible and irreplaceable Lucie Jones and David had really good chemistry. I just love the Waitress soundtrack.

At the Birmingham Hippo matinee today.A full house in attendance. Very well sung throughout and the comedy hit home time and time again. The house programme was £6 which is a bit steep imo. Great memories of the original in London which I saw wayyy too many times and glad to see this seems to be pulling in the punters on tour. Sound seemed fine from Circle, three rows back. Preferred David as the Doc but that’s just personal taste.

Anyone know what the programme/souvenir brochure situation is for the Mayflower? I’m going later this week and was wondering what was in each of them! I’ve seen there seems to be one with cast on the front, so is that just a separate thing with the cast in, and then the plain blue one is the nice photos? Or is the cast in that too?

The programme is from your local theatre, so to speak. All programmes have in common that it has all the cast bios in, and production info, a bit about how the musical came about etc, with a pic of Jenna, Becky and Dawn on the front. The rest is filled up with what's coming to your local theatre and local theatre news. The souvenir brochure is only about Waitress - I'm not sure what's exactly in it, whether it's the current touring cast or predominantly the West End cast with Lucie Jones.

So just home from seeing this in Cardiff. I went to see it in Oxford, but long story short, my husband and 15 yro were unable to come then, so I promised a repeat trip somewhere on the tour….in Oxford I saw Matt Willis…Cardiff saw the return of David Hunter….Wow! No contest…he was effortless in that role….this is a great production. Chelsea Halfpenny is a stunning Jenna!

Saw this in Dartford. Never seen before. Found it really boring. Couldn't make out a word any of the were saying as music drowned them out.

Always struck me as the musical equivalent of a Lifetime/Channel 5 afternoon movie
