How very naff.
And apart from the naffness, it comes off as a bit desperate. Do they really have to sell this actors personal time like this? I do hope he’s getting paid for it.
And finally, don’t be surprised that crazy fans get creepy when they’re given access to people like this. “I’ve bought a ticket, and I’m now entitled to own a bit of you/be your friend/take liberties”

It might be a bit desperate but I think it's good that a show is being as engaging as they are with things like the kareoke and cast hang outs. I think more shows shoukd do it.

Cor... this is a new one 'Grab a beer' That's enough cringe for me today! So funny. Beers with Blake, wasn't there a few afternoon teas at one point? The signed programme and ice cream offer, upgrade offers, karaoke nights... It'll make for an interesting case study one day 😂

I'm saving my money for the "aperitif with Ashley" offer.

Went on a very reputable ticket sellers site earlier in the week to book a deal with free proseco/pie and the stalls plan only showed a few seats remaining which might lead people to think it’s an almost sold-out show.Reminded me of the old, ‘237 people are currently viewing these seats’ ,kind of thing to get punters to panic-buy! On the show web-site and on other sellers site it was clear that there were hundreds of empty seats. All a bit naughty! In truth, this is not selling at all well atm so the Ash-effect hasn’t worked.

In their defence, what you saw is probably just their allocation OR just the tickets available in the promotion. They don't show the full availability in these cases.

Agreed,Rukaya...I knew that right away and shook my head at it but would Joe Public?I feel that there should be some kind of note on the booking deal telling punters that there was a limited allocation of seats...it all feels a bit desperate and cynical.

It's a bit of a catch 22 - I personally think everyone should have the sense to compare the show website vs ticket agents etc but not everyone thinks that way. If agents make this note, they run the risk of driving people away from buying from their site, so naturally they won't want to do this. Not saying it should be this way but just adding my two cents.

My wife and daughter are off to see this in a few weeks so it will be interesting to see how my little ’un compares this cast with the originals who we saw in first few days of the run.

My daughter, who is 11, saw the originals and has just seen the new cast. She much preferred Lucie to Kat (I love both), She preferred Jack’s original Ogie but thought the new guy was great (which he is), but she really didn’t like Ashley, who she described as singing like a honking goose. Eek.

Shows how bad the marketing team are lol I've said since the start a decent TV show-off performance might give it a nice boost; but we've had two rounds of Sunday Brunch and The Jeremy Vine Show!!!!! Could they do a performance on the This Morning kitchen? 9to5 made full use of the facilities this morning- their marketing team are doing an amazing job. What with countless TV slots, and a buzz I haven't seen for an opening in years. Dolly has helped I imagine.

Olivia Moore making her debut as Jenna this afternoon. Very sad that it wasn’t quite enough notice for me to be able to get there.

Did anybody get a chance to see Olivia Moore as Jenna in Saturday’s matinee?? Any reviews? Wish I could have seen it!
I’ve seen the show 4 times now, first 3 with Katharine McPhee and the fourth time with Lucie Jones this Friday just passed. Lucie has a gorgeous voice but I must say I prefer Katherine’s performance and characterisation. Saw Laura Baldwin as Dawn the first 2 times, she was obviously brilliant (can’t wait til she’s back), Olivia Moore played Dawn the third time. She did seem to struggle a bit towards the end of When He Sees Me but otherwise did amazing... and I would take her any day over Ashley Roberts, who I saw on Friday. She really goes for it, I’ll give her that, but it was just not good. Her voice was too low, she couldn’t hit the notes, was out of breath most of the time and is just so wrong for the part.
As someone else said earlier, it was nice to have an Ogie who can sing! I was pleasantly surprised by Blake Harrison. I did love Jack McBrayer’s performance, his physical comedy and his timing were excellent. It did seem like Blake was not as dynamic or maybe still settling into the role. However Jack struggled with the singing as much as Ashley 😂 while Blake had no problems.
David Hunter is brilliant as Doctor Pomatter. He’s delivery is spot on. I hope he stays in the role for the rest of the run! I do think he had better chemistry with Katharine but maybe that will come with Lucie in time. Really hope this gets extended again through late December/early January so I can bring my sister.

Returned tonight for some more pie. I did wonder who was in the audience given that hardly any seats were sold two days ago and it was a full house. Don't think a lot of people bought their tickets...
I loved Lucie Jones as Jenna. She sings beautifully and adds her own little flourishes to her songs. Really great.
Blake wasn't as OTT funny as Ogie but it worked and he sang it well enough.
Ashley Roberts really gave it her best shot but, as has been pointed out many times, she can't sing well enough. I hate to sound mean about her but I know so many young performers who would be well suited to the part. My hatred of star casting continues...
I highly recommend the two seats alone at the back of the Dress Circle, row P. They're slightly further back than most but offer a good unobstructed view being raised higher than the rest of the dress circle. The legroom is better in these seats than in many towards the front of the circle.

Oooh that's good to know cause I'm going by myself and for that very fact I was looking at P31 which seems to be a solo seat. EDIT - Nevermind, I've just read Theatremonkey's review of this seat.

Waitress on Broadway has just announced that it will close on January 5th, 2020. Very sad news, I wasn't even aware that the production was not performing well enough to justify staying open on Broadway!

So sad to see that Waitress is closing on Broadway in January 😭 but it will have had nearly 4 years which is I think a great run by any standards these days! 😍 I’ve been lucky enough to see the show numerous times in NYC (when I lived there) and now London and it’s always put a smile on my face. Excuse me whilst I go and listen to She Used To Be Mine on repeat 😭💔 http://instagram.com/p/Bz-2CP7gFNm

They've had a pretty good, healthy Broadway run considering they opened in the same year as Hamilton and didn't exactly sweep up all the awards. They've relied heavily on star casting which shows in the grosses whenever a star wasn't in the show, and it's better for them to bow out with 6 months later rather than having to close rapidly! I'll be really sad to see it go as I've loved it every time I've seen it on Broadway but hey ho, that's the biz.
