Website a lot better this year than the usual shambles, but maybe the fact the line-up is generally mediocre has contributed to that - a bit sluggish and I lost one ticket but managed to get it back. Booked The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs and The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, and will probably leave it at that.

I booked Wildlife and Destroyer. Tried for Beale Street but no tickets that I thought were worth the price were available.
I might look at some of the quirkier stuff once booking calms down.

Website was slow but functioning. Ended up going for The Favourite and The Front Runner but at daytime showings. Otherwise, some shorts and a few offbeat things. Looking forward to Papi Chulo as I've been a big fan of John Butler's previous work.

Missed out on Border and Wildlife which were sold out by the time I got to them. Website was a nightmare and somehow only allowed me to buy one ticket at a time rather than stacking them up in a basket to purchase together. Luckily my friend got all the big ones earlier this week so overall going to: Alfonso Cuaron and Keira Knightley NFT talks Widows Colette The Old Man and the Gun The Ballad of Buster Scruggs Lizzie Beautiful Boy Roma The Front Runner Destroyer Wild Rose Life Itself After The Screaming Stops (for the old Bros fan in me) Etangs Noirs The White Crow The Favourite Can You Ever Forgive Me? Nancy If Beale Street Could Talk The Hate U Give Stan & Ollie Phew, will be a tiring week and a bit. So wasteful as most of them will probably be released everywhere next year and I could have seen them using the Unlimited card

I booked for "After the Screaming Stops" too but I'm a bit concerned by the news on Twitter that Matt and Luke will be at the premiere on the 17th. I'm not sure that the screaming will have stopped judging by the number of fans who booked tickets this morning.

I thought it would just be a normal screening as it’s just in NFT1. I only booked that because Border was sold out at the same time.

Oh my. Well the 7 year old Bros fan in me would be dead excited. I moved on to bigger and better things after that, like New Kids on the Block!

Is there any point in me trying Amex pre-sale next week or have all the big ones already sold out? I'm only really interested in The Favourite, A Private War and Outlaw King, and all at normal showings except for The Favourite (where I would like to get to the gala if I can).

Unless something has changed this year due to the unavailability of the Odeon Leicester Square, there are always a few (very good) rows for every screening that are put up for grabs specifically for the Amex presale, so definitely worth a try!

Yes, as Amex is a lead sponsor they usually have a reserved allocation of tickets for every screening.

Found the website worse this year actually, likely wasn't helped by having Cineworld rather than Odeon with considerably less seats.
First time in three years I've missed out on something I wanted (The Favourite premiere). Got the Embankment screening instead which BFI seem to be saying will be a similar setup, just an hour or so later.
Friday 12 October 2018 20:40 - Widows
Saturday 13 October 2018 14:00 - Surprise Film 18:00 - Beautiful Boy
Sunday 14 October 2018 13:45 - Roma
Thursday 18 October 2018 20:15 - The Favourite
Saturday 20 October 2018 11:30 - Can You Ever Forgive Me? 17:30 - If Beale Street Could Talk
Have everything crossed that the surprise film will be Vox Lux.

I swore I was going to cut back this year, so how come I have 16 films to book for tomorrow?!

Snutte - sounds an amazing list! I listen to a podcast called 'Little Gold Men' and they were raving about Roma, so well done getting tix for that!

Well, I'm all booked - got the parallel screening of The Favourite as the earlier one sold out its allocation pretty instantly (though I'm sure there'll be tickets released for general sale).
They Shall Not Grow Old was confusing because they changed the times and one of them was entirely sold out to members? But I think I got the screening I wanted.
I am seeing: Sometimes Always Never Mirai Rafiki Wildlife Beautiful Boy Amra and the Second Marriage Duplicate Tunes of Glory They Shall Not Grow Old 3D Border The Favourite Wild Rose A Private War The Man Who Killed Don Quixote The Fight If Beale Street Could Talk
I was trying not to pick the obvious ones that will be all over awards season, because last year I ended up with not much new to see in Dec/Jan as I'd seen so many of the big awards contenders at LFF. I suspect I may have failed...

Amex presale booking is now open. I've booked for the free screening "Surprise Treasure" on Friday 12th October
(which is more than enough info to work out what they are actually showing)

Amex pre-sale wasn't cooperating on the website for me but phone booking was very easy and pleasant. Well, I'm all booked - got the parallel screening of The Favourite as the earlier one sold out its allocation pretty instantly (though I'm sure there'll be tickets released for general sale). I also got the parallel screening, and that was nearly sold out as well by the time I got to it. The woman on the phone said the gala has properly sold out and went within half an hour of members booking opening, only the tickets held back for Amex were left this morning. Also going to: Wild Rose Outlaw King If Beale Street Could Talk A Private War The White Crow Pretty happy with my selection and the number of films I'm managing to see given I'm away for the whole first weekend of the festival! It's been a couple of years since I last went so looking forward to it.

Think the Surprise film will be Boy Erased - two Nicole Kidman performances (and more importantly two Nicole Kidman wigs) over the same weekend!
Bought a ticket for Life Itself on Thurs 18th at 20:40 for £17 thinking it would be better value than the premiere... but now realised that the premiere screening is only £24 so might as well pay the extra £7 for the red carpet and the cast and crew attendance etc. How strict are BFI at exchanges like this one? Might drop by the South Bank tomorrow?

Decided to hedge my bets this year and not go for any of the films which will likely get large releases, since I’m paying for Cineworld Unlimited I’m sure I can wait! I’ve got tickets for Thunder Road (the reviews for the short it’s based on are fascinating) so far and now just scrolling through what’s left that doesn’t have a UK distributor attached...

Stan and Ollie trailer is out, but beware - it does seem to give away a lot of the plot (yeah, I know it's based on stuff that actually happened but even so - trailer makers, do you think you could hold back a little bit?)

Going to try for tickets for The Sister Brothers and Dragged Across Concrete when they go on sale tomorrow (John C. Reilly is going to be in town for the Stan & Ollie screening so I'm guessing he might show up for TSB, and Bone Tomahawk and Brawl In Cell Block 99 were 2 of the best films I've seen in recent years at the LFF, so I'm well up for DAC)
