Emma live in the theatre I love (haven't seen her in more than 18 months, mind you) but in these audios they don't capture her singing. Her acting is just not for me so I won't be seeing her again but I will say that the audios I've been hearing from the last few months she does give a lot of effort.

I had the exact same thought about that audio and had the exact same thought when I saw the show live before Christmas.
I've seen much stronger performers who have the ability to play with the score and pin me to my seat with power!
(I love the fan accounts btw.... "oh my god this is amazing etc etc".)
No. No it's not.

Well... after the "fiyero screech" those cheers from the audience made me cringe - can people really not control themselves to that level, there's a theatre full of people around them, they're not 'down the local'

The funny thing is people cheering because a performer tries to do something with the score - regardless of it failing to come off!

Yeah, I could forgive a whoop for something excellent and new, but none of it was.

I love finding these Broadway Obsessed videos!
Ex-Broadway Glinda Alli Mauzey showing what would happen if she had jumped on the broom instead of Elphie! (From 1:48 if you don't want to watch the whole thing...)
Brilliant!

So, this is one of those year long extensions that isn't bad news? This is an annual thing though, 30th Jan 2015 they extended until April 2016 www.wickedthemusical.co.uk/readnews.asp?id=114wkd Also still breaking their own ticket sale records doesn't sound like a show in trouble to me, doesn't appear like they have problem shifting tickets!

Are tickets for the 10th anniversary likely to go on sale on Monday? They were in the last booking period but no tickets available...

Yes - this is definitely a show which is not in trouble of any form. However, I suspect all of their new record breaking weeks are due only to price inflation, so this is really only a gauge that the show is not *losing* popularity, rather than gaining it.

Is this for west end Wicked or Broadway? I'm getting confused here! Both - sort of. It used to be West End only, but with Rachel Tucker currently on Broadway, we're also discussing the Broadway production here.

I'm not booking tickets for 10th anniversary until we know what will be happening. If it's just a normal show with previous Elphabas etc onstage at the end I'm not going.

I know this is never going to happen but how amazing would it be for the tenth anniversary week to have a different Elphaba every show?
Monday: Idina Menzel Tuesday: Kerry Ellis (she should do the 10th day as she is the first British Elphaba Wednesday: Alexia Khadime Wednesday eve: Rachel Tucker Thursday: Louise Dearman Friday: Willemijn Verkaik Saturday m: Jennifer DiNoia Saturday e: Emma Hatton
Would destroy my bank account as I'd be seeing 8 wicked shows in one week and I know it will never happen as they hardly celebrated on Broadway, but one can dream!
(I am aware that the brilliant casting will no doubt be Emma Hatton and Savannah Stevenson extending!)
