It really does need to be someone new to the show. Its been nice having Rachel then Willemijn back but Wicked needs new blood in London now to revitalise it.
I would hate for the show to drift towards eventual closure getting more and more stale with unimaginative casting

Emma would get me buying a ticket, so let's hope so! Although she's known for doing "new" musicals, I know she's auditioned for Glinda before so anything's possible... Her role in Half a Sixpence is no-where near as big as Glinda and she gets far more (and better) songs.
But I doubt it.

Lets get Laura Emmitt Back as full time Elphaba I say! We do need her back. I doubt they'll immediately bump her up to lead, but I can see her get the standby gig. I was actually expecting her to be the standby for this cast. She and McQueen auditioned for standby Elphaba, but they didn't get it clearly, Alice got it which I'm so happy about because I love Alice! Rumour has it, Alice is replacing Willemijn and Laura & McQueen are auditioning for standby again! Let's hope Laura gets it this time!  |

I know this one might be a bit farfetched, but I really want to see Danna Paola play this role in London. She's not really new to the role, but I doubt many of you will have seen her.

I'm guilty of it sometimes (like in The Bodyguard thread the other day), but I try to stop myself from doing it too much, especially in the case of Wicked where every time I get my hopes up the producers surprise me with even more uninspired casting (bringing back Rachel being the exception to that!) |

Yes, but many people have wanted Sam to play that role for ages and I believe it's one of her favourite shows too. I think it's just bound to happen sometime. And she's quite a big name so that might help the producers to decide to cast her as Elphaba instead of bringing back someone else. |

That might make sense if Alice actually was better than Laura. Kidding, we all have our opinions. (But I do think Laura is better tbh). How was she not ready? Every time she went on she blew the roof off. They could have given her 1st understudy in the meantime. Unless Laura didn't want that, which would be understandable. |
