Oh, and we'd better get our tickets booked up sharpish for 'Evita'. With Emma Hatton in the leading role, I'm sure that plenty of people will be booking seats for every performance to support the 'queen'... And I thought they've completely lost interest in her the moment she left Wicked...

Haha this video really has opened up a can of worms! ๐ As well as sprinting to reach the stage door, illegally recording shows (albeit they can be enjoyable to watch...), listening out for every single minuscule riff and also pressing heads against a backstage entrance to hear DG from Wilton Road, 'superfans' also take social media too far. They what now?ย Same guy posted a vlog about a year ago where they had got dayseats to see an evening performance. Whilst they waited they vlogged outside the AV mid-afternoon besides a shutter door (presumably for set etc.) and waited to hear Natalie Andreou defy gravity. The video shows 2 of them ears pressed against the door with the camera. You could hear the singing even on the vlog, and they were commenting throughout. So obsessive and utterly ridiculous in my opinion!!

'She gets into character too much' (about Alexia) didn't make much sense to me, either. Again, that's... that's called acting. Oh what he said about Alexia made me laugh though! "I just, I find her a bit strange..." ๐๐ Yeah I hate it too when actors get into character too much... *rolls eyes* ๐

I felt like I got a fan-girl badge on the tour in Bradford where I saw the last three shows and went to stage door before the show... it was an impromptu decision on the morning and please rest assured I didn't take any gifts (so missed out on my superfan badge).....
I'd been following some of the cast vlogs and thought I'd just say hi and thank them for a fab few days! I chatted to a few of the ensemble as well as Kim Ismay who was just the loveliest person, chatted for 10 minutes about the show and the tour. I went before as needed to leave straight after the show.
I've done it but it all felt a bit odd... I didn't really have anything to say except "hi I really enjoyed your performance" so I don't understand how you can do it any more frequently - what do you talk about "Oh I loved that riff you did Midwife?!?!"

And I thought they've completely lost interest in her the moment she left Wicked... They will be all there opening night tomorrow Bromley I'm sure. Audios to follow soon after... Nothing wrong with supporting your favourites though. There's a handful of folks from Wicked past and present that if it was announced they were singing the alphabet in a little theatre in Crewe, I would probably book immediately. What I wouldn't do would be tweeting constant "Omg I love you" tweets and turning up at stage door with lots of presents. Heck, they should be buying ME a present

There's too many bandwagon fans for fifth cover midwife now. Some of us were fans long before her very first note!
(Runs off to set up team SIXTH cover midwife twitter account...)

I don't think I've ever hit the "like" button for so many posts as I have done in reading the last four pages! I'm not sure whether I'm looking forward to (for amusement and bemusement purposes) or dreading (because I actually want to hear the show) the number of obsessives who'll be at Rachel's last show...

Saw the show tonight and thought I would post a few thoughts here, since reading all the previous posts got me thinking quite a bit.
This was my 4th time seeing Rachel, and once again I noticed aspects of her characterisation tonight that I've not noticed before - every show from her really is unique and she is so at one with her Elphaba, it's really wonderful to watch. Vocally, she was very impressive as usual and (without wishing to start mockery of riff obsession) she did the 'things I've never felt' riff in the wizard and I, which sounded glorious. I only have Emma Hatton to compare her to, but she seems like the perfect Elphaba to me.
Helen Woolf was on as Glinda, and her voice was beautiful. Not as much vibrato as other Glindas, which was refreshing and nice to hear. I thought she played Glinda less playful than others have, but I also think that, more than any other actress I've seen in the role, her Glinda was really struggling to put on the 'good witch' facade and hide her concern for Elphaba, which was an interesting element.
I don't want to make this too long, so a few closing thoughts - Oliver Saville was brilliant as usual and Idriss Kargbo has come on leaps and bounds since I first saw him when he started as Boq. Katie Rowley Jones was vocally strong, but quite bland with her acting tonight. Anita Dobson is much better than when she started, especially vocally, but I still think she's not quite sure how to deliver some of her lines. For me, Mark Curry is a bit too over the top as the wizard, and weak vocally.

I am out for dinner before the show on the 28th but keep your badges on as I'll be on the lookout at the theatre! Just seen this video starring one of our fellow well-discussed,board members: It made me think. What are your personal Wicked preferences? I personally think Rachel is the bees knees. In my opinion I feel she gives the role 110%, she is consistent, has a powerful vocal and is believable as Elphaba. I would say she is closely followed by Willemijn, and I also enjoyed seeing Cassidy Janson way back in 2007. I don't feel it fair to make assumptions on who I like/don't like if I've not seen them live. Do you agree? Play nicely!! What have I just watched? Is he on this forum?

He is a notorious Wicked super-fan, even the cast are aware of his obsessive, illegal ways haha.

hah. that guy in the video was in the SD queue next to me after Rachel's first back, didn't realise at the time, but his whole group spent the time talking loudly about who they didn't like of the current cast and why. Made me extremely uncomfortable as there were cast leaving at the time and their family & friends surrounding us who looked the same!!
I'm all for loving a show, I'm exactly the same, but when it goes beyond enjoying the show and into obsessive tendencies in which you start to turn cast members into objects who you can rank, put down or idolise to an extreme level, it's gone too far.

He is also the very same person who notoriously shoved the young girl out of the way at the SD queue so he could stand closer to the door.

On the odd occasions ive stage doored the same faces are squeezed up as close as they can get to the door, dont see the point really, they wiil get to everyone

Whoever said that to you is clearly lying! So this guy in the video has two accounts on here too... one with his name and one with the Alice Fearn name. Well, wasn't too difficult to put two and two together.
