All six standbys are on today, half the main cast are off. Would have been a great show to see. I'd thought about trying to get there today a couple of weeks ago when I couldn't get to Edinburgh coz of train line works, but today's shows were already sold out then.

Catching this next week in Wimbledon, can't recall when I last saw a touring production sell so well there (and other tour stops as well?).
With this getting toward the end of the initial tour and only 7 stops left, any word on a future life after 5th Jan?

With the West End production of Come From Away having closed 18 months after more than 1,000 performances, it is wonderful that this incredible piece of musical theatre has returned to a London stage - albeit, a little bit further out in the leafy south-west suburb of Wimbledon.
Some shows seem to lose something when leaving a West End house for the often cavernous auditoriums out on national tours - not Come From Away. If anything, this intimate show grows to fit the size of the theatre it is being performed in.
It really is the ultimate ensemble piece and, while it would be unfair to single anyone out, Natasha J Barnes plays local television reporter Janice with humanity and humour, while Sara Poyzer gives a touching performance as pilot Beverley, culminating with the stunningly biographical ‘Me and the Sky’.
But the beauty of Come From Away is in how it ties these strangers’ stories together, as the people of Gander opened up their homes, lives and ultimately hearts to thousands of scared strangers - or ‘come from aways’. It touches on loss, discrimination and gives us a small insight into how real hope emerged from the most awful of circumstances.
This production is a replica of what was seen at London’s Phoenix Theatre and the only thing missing is the revolve, meaning Nick and Diane’s moment during ‘Stop the World’ is a little more static than previously seen. However, it is still an absolute knockout of a show that builds momentum all the way through - how lucky we are to have it back in London, even if just for one week.
Back again tomorrow, can’t wait. Five stars.

Are there any rumours of this touring after Salford or making its way back to London? It seems to have sold incredibly well…Wimbledon has nearly fully sold out with just a few seats remaining. Chichester sold out almost on the day it went on sale and even at the Mayflower the balcony was open on weekend performances.

Just out of this afternoon’s performance. Nothing to add other than that this show completely blows my mind and is the epitome of what musical theatre such a beautiful medium to tell stories.
Come From Away is a masterclass is how to pull at the thread of every single human emotion in 140 minutes. Pure joy.
And, to this day, it remains the most instantaneous standing ovation I’ve ever seen in any theatre (five times). Stunning, absolutely stunning. And who doesn’t love a Friday matinee?!
Bring it back!

Fab show tonight in Wimbledon - a lively crowd and great performances all round. Well worth the last minute ticket purchase!

Caught the show this afternoon in Norwich - as fantastic as I remembered it from the times I saw it in London. It truly is a beautiful show.
