Come From Away - Phoenix / U.K & Ireland Tour 2024

Does anyone know if there are genuine plans for a limited return to London?

I love the Apple version, it was that which got me hooked on the show as it was the first version I saw, and so far has been the one I've seen the most - although I expect that to change this year.

That's not to say I necessarily think it's the best version, as I do love the current tour cast. But it's great to have on demand. I don't have Apple TV, but I've managed to make the most of a few free subscriptions.

I saw the matinee in Leeds yesterday and loved it just as much as in Leicester. Alyn was on for Oz, which was great to see as he played it a bit differently. They had signs up in the foyer stating the cast change, which I thought was good. Nothing else I can add really that hasn't already been said, the show is certainly in great hands and everyone seems to be really enjoying themselves.

My first time seeing this show and... I was a bit disappointed.

With everyone raving about it being the best musical ever, maybe my expectations were just too high. I intentionally held off listening the cast recording in too much detail as I wanted to experience this show raw. I was expecting it to be quite emotional (actually very emotional) but instead it was so fast paced and hectic that there was not really any chance to reflect on what these people were experiencing.

Take 39 Planes... I imagined this as a hugely powerful moment in the show; the moment where it dawns on the islanders the scale of global events changing before their very eyes. The whole song is barely a minute long and immediately jumps into the comedy of Blankets and Bedding.

Still a great musical, but didn't live up to the fanatical hype for me unfortunately.

Any rumours if this retuning to London for a short stint at the end of the tour (not the Wimbledon tour)

I have just had a brilliant couple of days in Dublin seeing this for my birthday. I'd thought I could probably get to almost anywhere on the tour in order to see the show on my birthday, and when I checked and realised it was in Dublin this week I jumped at the chance. (I normally go over to Ireland every year at the start of May, but didn't this year, so thought this was an excellent opportunity to make up for my missed visit.) Thursday was a bit stressful as my flight was two hours late due to the bad weather - I landed at 5.30, got lost finding my hotel and ended up checking in and just leaving my case at reception without even going to my room to freshen up, and I arrived at the theatre at 7.20!

Given the state I was in, the show was even more emotional than usual - I was crying almost as soon as it started! It was a very interesting show, Angeline was on as Diane and Phil was MD. Kirsty Malpass, the Assistant Director, came on as Beulah after Me and the Sky - they didn't even need to stop the show, the changeover was done very smoothly. Amanda had hurt her hand and needed to get it patched up. It was great to see some different cast members, and everyone did a great job.

Friday (my birthday) was much less stressful. I spent the day doing touristy things and went to the show again in the evening. Kirsty Hoiles was back as Diane, Phil was MD again, and Kirsty Malpass did the whole show as Beulah as Amanda was letting her hand heal so that she didn't catch it when they moved the tables etc. I had exactly the same seat for both shows, not necessarily by choice as that was where Ticketmaster allocated me when I said I wanted to be on the front row.

I came home yesterday, so it was only a flying visit, but I'm so glad I decided to go as I had a really amazing time.

I was able to buy a CFA program at Venue Cymru on Tuesday evening but they were out of stock on Saturday night. I was also able to get a JCS one a few weeks back on the Thursday night.

Is there a souvenir brochure now? They didn't have one out in April when I saw it

Saw this in Newcastle this afternoon and as good as when i saw it in London, even my mum enjoyed it as seeing it for the first time.
