If it's an open-ended run (which it looks to be), then I would hope/imagine a set specific for the venue would be created.

Really not sure if Cameron is losing his touch a bit. closing and swapping a successful sell out long running original for a touring production (les mis) and then bringing back a show that was previously proven to not be the smash hit expected (poppins) in London. He seems determined to make Poppins a big hit.
Personally I have mixed feelings on the show. I saw the original cast and it fell flat and dragged, then Scarelett and the repacement cast and loved it. it was like a whole other show. Then I saw the first UK tour with Caroline Sheen and still loved it. But the second UK tour was so dull and boring, and for me miscast it's leading lady.

I've never seen the show live but all I've heard is things like the design and special effects etc are enough of a reason to go regardless of casting. But please do correct me if wrong!
Obviously Charlie Stemp is enough a reason to go. I must admit though, I've watched videos of the Finale and have cried again and again just by how amazing it looks alongside the music, so I don't doubt this will move me in the same way. I don't know what it is about Poppins, maybe it's just a sentimental thing, as the sequel also moved me to tears several times.

I saw the tour numerous times and loved it. It was pretty much sold out and got rave reviews. The set was magical, there was certainly no cost cutting. Far superior to the set of most touring productions.
My Mum loves theatre but has not been to London for years (she is scared!) but this show is the one show she will overcome her gears for and is already making plans.

I’ve loved it every time I’ve seen it, whatever the production. London, Broadway, 1st UK Tour, 2nd UK Tour. I’m sure it will be the same again in London.. if I can afford it!

I've still yet to see this show, wanted to catch the last tour but it never worked out that way. I'll definitely be booking tickets as soon as I can though, especially given Charlie has been cast.

This show is brilliant. Properly brilliant. And I think that’s because they’ve not put the film on stage. I adore the film, but there is so much in the books to use and it makes for a fuller, more interesting story. I think the songs are universally great, regardless of composer (yes, the Sherman songs will always feel better, but they’re in our DNA, we know them backwards) and it’s a visual feast, whether they put the tour production in or we go back to the original.
If I could have one wish, it’s that we get the original house back. Because THAT was incredible. (I’m fairly sure it doesn’t exist anymore though...)

I saw the original production not long after it opened and was underwhelmed also came away really disappointed as loved a lot of the original cast in other roles and the film so much .... But have the tour a chance and fell in love with the show seemed to flow better and be much tighter ... must admit though did like the scary nursery scene better than they mild tour version I cried at feed the birds and the finale too yes yes can clearly see the wires but wow

I wonder whether work has already started on the stage version of MP Returns. Wouldn't surprise me! The Show MPR is not the best show I have ever seen. But I do not understand the hate. It has terrific songs, great acting and a great story and solid choreography

Just booked tickets for the first preview! Wouldn't normally book this far in advance but I made an exception for this (only other exception I made was for Hamilton), can't wait to finally see the show. Ended up going for the restricted view front side stalls seats. Hopefully won't end up missing much.

Are they using the original set or the tour set?
How else did the tour differ from the West End production?
Thanks

I'm glad to see the majority of the stalls is top price with only a couple of rows being premium, the way it should be in my opinion but so many seem to throw in as many premium seats as poss these days. Hoping they offer dayseats/rush/lotto as well though as I feel this will be the show I'm likely to want to return to.

My email came through at 12 on the dot, and have managed to book already. No problems, queues or timeouts... what a pleasant surprise!
