I don’t know at this point if that could be true for some roles, but the offers I know of so far are not members of the Hamburg cast.

Zizi Strallen did a wonderful job as Mary during the UK tour!

I did hear the other day that Strictly is on it's way out before the year is up, and Zizi is being offered Mary again for when this opens next year...

I had a conversation with Zizi at an event in the gap between Mary on tour and when it went to the International venue it went too. She said that she had heard there were discussions over the tour going into the West End since the tour opened, and if she was offered the chance to do it in London, she would do it 100% given she was free. She has done Follies and Strictly between then, so hopefully she will do it.

I don’t know, I would love to see Mary Poppins again (after seeing the tour three times) but Im ready to see someone else in the role.
Zizi gave a fantastic performance every time but the way she sang the high notes didn’t sit right with me. Not sure if I call it nasally or something but hearing her sing ‘pERfect’ sounded off to me
Don’t mind seeing her again but Ill try and catch her understudy

I think Gina Beck would also be pretty fantastic!

The last UK tour cast was for me the weakest I've seen, really wasn't a fan of Zizi at all. If the show must come back Gina would be great, or Emma Williams or someone completely new

Well it’s confirmed. I saw Cameron Mackitosh at the Mamma Mia 2 premiere tonight and he said that Mary WILL be back in the West End in the next year. HOORAH!

I saw the original production back in 2005 and it's still one of the most amazing shows I've seen; that set was incredible, I don't know what other set can come close - it was an entire house on stage. Everything is done so cheaply these days that I'm guessing it'll be a watered down tour-style production coming in for a limited run, right? Also I have to say no one has come close to Laura Michelle Kelly's original interpretation of the title role - she was not a caricature, she was so nuanced and she played the role to perfection. I feel with all subsequent Marys we had too many high pitched musical theatre-Glinda-style leading ladies (don't know how else to describe it) rather than Kelly's version which was actually quite moving especially near the end of the show. No other Mary has matched what Kelly brought out in the Anything Can Happen number. My personal thoughts of course!

It had the full house on stage and was incredibly impressive,by no means were any elements skimped upon. I'd expect that set is still in storage and would be utilized for a West End production.

As much as I loved the original set, it seems unlikely that we'll get that again given the touring set is probably in storage and is only a notch down in terms of quality. I thought the pop-up effect worked really well - in fact I thought it was one of the best tours I've seen. Thrilled it'll be back

Carrie Hope Fletcher for the role of Mary Poppins? In fairness to her she was pretty decent as Truly Scrumptious which is somewhat similar. I don’t think she’ll get it but I don’t think she’d do awfully

Carrie Hope Fletcher for the role of Mary Poppins? Oh god no, please. We’d never hear the last of it. I saw the tour and I thought the design was stunning. All of the set pieces were amazing but that one where all the chimney sweeps are in the rooftops against the inky blue night sky with smoke coming out of the chimney pots was just stunning. I always think about that when I think of the show.

Really? I thought every production tour or otherwise since the first London/NYC productions was a scaled down doll-house pop-up set...?

I never saw the original production, but I thought the last tour was absolutely stunning. In terms of value for money and seeing where your ticket price has gone I think it's one of the best tours of recent years.
If that was scaled down, the original must have been really quite something.
All that said, I still would kill to see this at the Dominion. Nice big stage, perfect for Step In Time, and so much flying space...ooft!
Seeing this for the first time at Brum Hipp, seeing Mary soar above the stalls and disappear through a hole in the ceiling...genuinely a goosebump moment for me and a theatrical highlight that I don't think I'll ever forget.
