Yum. I love scones caiaphas. I can be really greedy & eat all 10 of those cheap ones [ for 49p 0r 50p depending where you get them] one after the other.

Snow still all over (we had the last lot this morning) and now we're in the thickest of fogs. My place looks over the valley here and visibility can be no more than about 25 metres.
On weird Scandinavian shows; if anyone thinks that Fortitude gets weird, try the Swedish show Jordskott - missing children, parasites and sundry mythical creatures - not your normal police procedural.

Jordskott is well and truly weird, enjoyable , but I just couldn’t watch the second series, I think it lost surprise and therefore interest for me. Midnight Sun (Swedish/French) and Valkyrien (Norwegian) were both weird to the point of being barking, but much better than Jordskott in my opinion. Babylon-Berlin though (German) how atmospheric and stylish was that series? Even had Brian Ferry in it . |

Ages old now but, for a medical set show, Von Trier's pre-Scandi Noir Danish success The Kingdom took some beating. I'll also proffer another couple of bonkers but great shows, the Aussie 'The Kettering Incident' and American 'The OA' (written by and starring the brilliant Brit Marling). If you like your drama to go well off the beaten path of realism then give them a try. Both of them have second series supposedly coming up. (Now the sun's gone I am literally struggling to see onto the next street it's that murky, really atmospheric stuff!) |

Out of fear of getting it wrong I pronounce scone as "(points finger) one of those" or, in desperate circumstances where that won't work, as "oh, um, er, a packet of ready salted crisps, please".
