Sarah Lancashire is Margaret.
The most perfect casting possible I think. Can you imagine how emotional “He’s My Boy” is going to be?

Sarah Lancashire is Margaret. The most perfect casting possible I think. Can you imagine how emotional “He’s My Boy” is going to be? I think it will be a very different He's My Boy to the stage version. Obviously full on stage singing doesn't always work on film, so i think it will be more of an intimate thing. She can sing, but not like the Margarets can on stage. A good choice and a big name for the film.

After only 5 hour sleep I read this tweet by Baz as if all 3 of the actors will be in the film. I have a suspicion it's not what he meant but my English fails this morning... One actor playing Jamie per film, right? Why does he put 2 others in there?

One actor playing Jamie per film, right? Why does he put 2 others in there? Initially this is how I read it too! I think on reflection he was just putting the three actors together to show who the three main Jamies have been/will be. Admittedly very confusing though. I can’t see how they could work having three different Jamies as it’s not like the character ages much.

I LOVED Betty Blue Eyes, and Sarah Lancashire was fantastic in it.

Shobna Gulati reprises her role, too.
And John McCrea to play young Hugo/Loco?

Finally got to see this last night and really enjoyed it! I didn't think many of the songs were *that* memorable but they were performed with such enthusiasm and the whole thing was just overflowing with joy and good humour that it didn't seem to matter. I loved how completely British it was in its references! Layton Williams is a true star - I've seen him in a few things over the years and he was clearly born to play this role.
I was sat in row X in the stalls next to the sound desk and had a perfect view, an amazing seat for 35 quid!

And...action!!! This afternoon, for the first time, the film crew and I were in the same place at the same time. Who would ever have thought, BurlyBeaR, that Atkinsons would one day star in a feature film? Jamie is with Pritti. He jumps down from the window sill. Pritti (who is tiny) bumps into a background artist playing an older woman. Jamie and Pritti look at each other, pause for a moment, then run inside. And when the crew, all 50 of them, followed them inside, I took my leave, in the sure and certain knowledge that our paths would cross again. There was a notice advising that my "likeness may be recorded in the background" so it's just as well I'm looking especially stylish today. I must have walked half a mile...back and forth...back and forth. 🙂

I used to enjoy a mooch in Atkinson’s on my dinner break. Proper old fashioned department store.

WOAH! Looks like quite a production...
Certainly will have to catch the show sometime soon. I thought it would be closed and forgotten about after a couple of months in the WE!!! How wrong!!!

I used to enjoy a mooch in Atkinson’s on my dinner break. Me too - most days between 1998 and 2004.

Went to see the matinee today, having not realised it was Pride when I booked it. It meant the tube there and back was packed but I was able to catch some of the parade and it's a fitting show for Pride anyway!
It was my first time seeing this although I'd seen the screening earlier in the year. I thought Layton's vocals were great and preferred them to John McCrea but did think his attitude didn't seem quite as natural.
Was in one of the grand circle boxes which has a horrendous view but was only £20 and the other person in there with me went to sit with her sister who was sat in the main bit in the interval so I had it to myself and could lean as much as I wanted.

Is there any rumours/news yet on the tour casting? I’d expect a 90’s former popstar, a soap star and a X Factor reject to make up the main adult cast.

Debating whether to go again on 3rd September as I still haven’t managed to catch Layton.
Does anyone know if he has any holidays published around that time ?
Thank you

Do we think the West End production will finish in January at the end of the current booking period? Would save them having to build a new set for the tour.
Neither Kinky Boots nor Beautiful could sustain in London whilst also touring so would seem logical.
