I need an eye test. I read that as "there will be more than one song for London" and thought, I should jolly well hope there was more than just one song in a whole musical. Who does Dan Gillespie-Sells think he is, Stephen Sondheim?
And then I re-read it.
Hello, Specsavers . . .

I see now that they have (badly) photoshopped a cartoon school uniform onto Jamie in the logo. Presumably a naked teenager was deemed as inappropriate. mobile.twitter.com/JamieMusical/photo

Why they've done it I don't know but I would have thought they would have also changed it on the website if it was deemed innapropriate

Never saw this in Sheffield, equally it didn't grab my attention when it was first announced that it was coming to the West End but given all the positive reviews on here I've decided to book. Booked myself the cheap but apparently recommended stalls X6 for January, hoping I'll enjoy and it lives up to the expectations I've set after reading your comments

If that image is all you know about the show then it instantly gives a context as to Jamie's age, and the kind of world this show inhabits.

I would have thought this would be a hard sell. Top dollar prices of course! I will await the inevitable deals....
According the Nimax site though it seems busy - but I suspect loads of seats are held off sale or out at agencies? Why would the rear stalls be completely sold but there are seats available further forward at the same price?

I looked today and thought the same very busy the first few weeks ... hope it does well saw it in Sheffield and was very pleasantly surprised ... it’s now one of favourites some really great moments makes you laugh and cry he’s my boy had me in tears can’t wait to try to get to London to see it .... from the upper circle of course as too expensive elsewhere

How much does Tamsin Carroll do in this? Not a show that I'm particularly interested in, but I did like Tamsin in Miss Saigon.

She's involved in the opening number (Don't even know it), leads 'Work of Art', and is involved in quite a few of the spoken scenes. Could be slightly different now given that there have been changes to the script since Sheffield

I don't think this is a reduced price offer though (apart from maybe a slight reduction in the Grand Circle prices). Those are the prices that are offered when booked through the website. Time Out doesn't mention any reduction

I think I am more intrigued than excited about this show. The music hasn't really caught on for me, and the trailer hasn't really made me that much more excited either. But I'm still intrigued and hoping to be surprised.

The video you posted it no longer available. It was during the day but I couldn't watch it. Not sure why it has been removed, the still looked like it was an official promotional video.

But I'm still intrigued and hoping to be surprised. Me too, I'm looking forward to seeing it. What worries me a little about it, from what I've seen and I hope I am wrong, is that it looks like a bit of Matilda and a bit of Kinky Boots mixed up and thrown together.

Perhaps because it was the full version? There's still short 22 second clip on youtube. Maybe they had uploaded the wrong one and only wanted to throw a short teaser out. I love this song, can't wait to see the show live.

I'm also slightly apprehensive because, and I know I shouldn't say this because some queen is bound to get offended so sorry in advance, but I get the vibe from the trailers and promos that lead it is the kind of camp that I'm just not a fan of. I get vibes of Laganja Estranja when she is being fake bitch, and for me, I'm just not a fan of that kind of camp, over the top, fake queen realness. So again, I'm hoping I'm wrong, because I couldn't deal with two hours of that?

No, that’s not the type of humour at all. There’s no “OKURRRRRRR!!!” or similar draggy slang going on. He does look a bit like Estranga and of course he is a budding drag queen but it’s much more innocent really. These are school kids in a grim northern city school where ambition stretches to getting a job at the abbatoir (and that’s the teachers suggestion). It’s got loads of heart. You may not love it, but if you don’t I think it will be reasons other than you’ve described.

Could you clarify the type of camp you are into, because I honestly thought I had it sussed... Given your apprehension, have you thought of not going along to this one? Attending really isn’t compulsory.

I must admit the impression I get is that the show does have heart(probably cos it's based up north!)and I for one am really looking forward to seeing it in December.

Oh for god sake. I wanna see it because its got great reviews and I've had friends rave so I wanna see it for that reason alone.
With regard to my not being a fan of the kind of camp I am speaking of, I'm not trying to offend or piss anyone off, but I'm speaking of the kind of camp where certain males put on an act to make themselves more over the top than they actually are. Think Laganja Estranja. Everyone knew she was acting more over the top and ridiculous to get more attention on RuPaul, even the other queens called her out for it. I'm a fan of Laganja as Laganja, not by that over the top, ridiculousness that she was putting across to make herself into a fake version of what she really was as a perfomer. It made her unlikeable.
From trailers and promos, I was starting to get the same vibe from this show that it was going to be like that, which for me I am not a fan of. It just doesn't work for me personally, but I get that there are some who love and adore that crap, and thats fine. I'm glad to hear it is not like that, so I feel more excited by the show now simlly because I know I'm not getting two hours of that.
