I thought it might be useful to collate all the theatre-related stuff that will form part of the festive offerings this year
Christmas Carol Goes Wrong - BBC1 (not strictly theatre as it has not yet been done on stage... but close enough)
Elf - The Musical (recorded at the Lowry) - Channel 5 - 23rd December - 5pm
Am sure there will be a few films, operas, ballets - so let's get listing!

There seems to be some doubt over Half a Sixpence. Reported elsewhere that it isn't in the listings

That's because the New Year listings haven't yet been released anywhere.

That's because the New Year listings haven't yet been released anywhere. Now that they have... no sign of Half a Sixpence in the BBC4 listings for NYD.

Filmed production scheduled to be on BBC4 on New Year's Day. That's because the New Year listings haven't yet been released anywhere. Now that they have... no sign of Half a Sixpence in the BBC4 listings for NYD. Theatrelover123 promised us this, as a certainty.

Oklahoma Prom is on BBC 2 on Christmas Day afternoon Is that the one from this season? I hope so, 'cause I mucked up the recording! Also, I didn't know they recorded Elf at the Lowry. Unexpected bonus!

Quite disappointed Half A Sixpence isn't getting a showing. Didn't enjoy the Oklahoma Prom and Elf sounds less than great.

The West Side Story doc was worth watching for its interviews, especially Carol Lawrence and Jamie Bernstein who had some interesting insights. The singing was great with Rob Houchen doing stand out work, but that pitchy version of Somewhere has to be the worst ever, or at least since Boe and Balls last murdered it.

Sky has a Musicals channel in the Movies section for Christmas. Amongst the usual suspects "Oklahoma!" - the Trevor Nunn West End version (1999) - not the original film. & the original Newsies movie. Although sky has this billed as "News Boys".
