Both my homes had Labour gains (Peterborough and Bedford). Beyond thrilled!

I'd love to be a fly on the wall at Theresa May's next audience with the Queen.

Gets up.
Looks at results.
Realises we are going to do this again in a few months.
Weeps.
Notices Salmond lost.
Starts whistling show tunes.

It would be stupid of the Conservatives to call for yet another election. In a number of the seats they've held - including my own and some around it - they've held on by only a couple of percent. In many constituencies there'll be people who know that with a tiny bit more effort the Tories could be out, and any near-future campaign will involve a lot of "your vote can make a difference so get out there and make it".

I mean, what can you say really. I wish I had bet on this because I just knew it would be too close that it would end up a hung parliament. I've stayed up all night watching and it has just been a mess, this whole thing. Farewell May, good riddance. I would of voted for Buckethead personally.

I mean, the numbers for Labour are pretty extraordinary. They are if you think how far behind they were in the opinion polls but the fact remains that Tony Blair is still the only Labour leader to win a General Election in the last 40 years. This isn't about Corbyn but all about May.

If you look at the state of the Labour party with all the infighting and backstabbing and squabbling that's gone on for the last couple of years, it's genuinely impressive that Corbyn has pulled it all together to this extent. Maybe it's not as good as an actual victory, but I have hope for the future in a way I really didn't in the run up to yesterday.

Maybe it's not as good as an actual victory, but I have hope for the future in a way I really didn't in the run up to yesterday. It is incredible. The PLP hate Corbyn in large and the party seemed to have been hijacked by the hard left. Echoes of 1983 were obvious. However, it still shows how unsuccessful Labour have been in the last 4 decades - except under Blair, who wasn't traditional Labour anyway - that coming within 60 seats of the Conservatives is regarded as a phenomenal success.

Crispin Blunt (Conservative, Reigate): "The electorate plainly have got it wrong". People are making references to rhyming slang.
Meanwhile, Theresa May appears in Downing Street to make a speech:
"F*** you! F*** you all! F***ers. Thank you."

Yes, I generally find that men named Crispin are MUCH more correct when it comes to matters of "getting things right (or wrong)" than 70% of the voting adults in the country.

Perhaps because I am not that policitally active
I only just read Corbyn profile
2 A levels at E grade
And incomplete degree from a polytechnic
This now explains much to me
In terms of to whom he appeals
Seriously
Victoria Beckham is more qualified for the job

For all your talk about your incredible (self-made) work ethic and long work hours you seem to spend more time on this messageboard spouting nonsense than most teenage trolls.

Wow. I'm not sure Victoria Beckham even managed to find the door to a polytechnic so I think Corbyn is already more qualified than she is for the job. Parsley, are you really Katie Hopkins?

hahaha we've finally worked it out! and she's got more time on her hands than ever now! (Hopkins, not Beckham, who at least has about 10 mini Beckhams to keep her occupied)
