A guy proposed to his girlfriend at the curtain call yesterday...see this is why straight people shouldn't be allowed to marry.
(seriously, it's a show about muderous teens...how romantic)

I get that sing-along shows must sell pretty well now but it's so annoying that they change performances that people have already booked! Must completely ruin people's travel plans etc.

[Agency response to my cancellation request... moved to a new thread in General as it isn't Heathers-specific]

This sounds like hell on earth. The idea of a sing-along performance of this show just sounds terrible. Why is this becoming a regular thing, and those poor people getting stuck with some screaming beasts next to them all night, good god.

Olivia on as Veronica again. Wondering if no announcement was made because of the number of negative comments on Twitter last weekend

I sort of see doing singalongs at Bat Out of Hell but not Heathers!

So long as it is well publicised and people know what they are getting themselves into I can't see a problem.

Why is this becoming a regular thing, and those poor people getting stuck with some screaming beats next to them all night, good god. Couldn’t agree more DJ. At least Bat has several big singalong ‘hits’ that joe public might go for, ‘Heathers’ is a big sing for the people in it and if we’re being perfectly honest even they aren’t always on a 100% strike rate for the notes as written. A room full of belting teen/too old for this... wannabe’s shrieking out one of our ‘glittering’ west ends highest scores...well it’s a terrifying prospect. Pretty sure they’ll be able to hear it over at Phantom!

I feel really bad for Carrie getting messages and photos of her upsetting kids etc. This show has just brought out the worst in people.

I think that is the point where CHF would be totally justified in just telling people go f*** themselves. Seriously. Were people always this pathetic or has social media created them?

So long as it is well publicised and people know what they are getting themselves into I can't see a problem. That's the problem though. If you announce it as a singalong before you open booking for that performance then fine, No complaints. But if you change a show that was already open for booking into a singalong without warning then you have to refund anyone who no longer wants to go as otherwise they are not getting what they paid for!

It seems like one guy sent a photo because daughter was disappointed. Since deleted.
Yes it's not a good idea to so this, we would all agree, but why concentrate on one tweet amongst the thousands of supportive ones?
Also if you are ill why tweet about it all? Why not switch off from work and give yourself time to rest and recover?

(seriously, it's a show about muderous teens...how romantic) There was a study a few years back that showed the more flamboyant the proposal, the less likely it is that the couple will stay together long-term. Also, the guy didn't think this one through. What's happy and spontaneous in a theatre will sound very different from the dock in court. Particularly given the theme of the show, indeed... Just if anyone on Theatreboard wants to propose please do not do it on stage

Why not switch off from work and give yourself time to rest and recover? Human nature? Giving a sh!t about your ‘fans’? Because you share everything and feel a responsibility to do so through good times & bad? “She pulled a sickie and didn’t even tweet about it!” We’ve been here so many times before. Ultimately, if you share too much of yourself in the beginning don’t be surprised if people want you to carry on once you’ve established yourself. How many acts these days build up an online following then stop engaging as soon as they get busy & famous & stuff? (I’m looking at you 1D 😂). This young lady works her arse off, has actual talent, has the sort of following that gets producers interested enough to build productions around her, gives back by going and selling her products in person on book tours and meet & greets. Sure she can grate a bit with the woe is me stuff but she really can’t win. Quite why people feel the need to be so vile to her is beyond me.

I've seen on the Twitter post they did, there are several people saying they booked for that performance and don't want to go now because they want to hear the actors sing, not the fangirls.

read it, some people come from the Netherlands and farther away to see the actors sing and not other people. Read on twitter they don’t even get refunds. Ridiculous

This was always the case? Yeah, The Band was confirmed a while ago and it's starting Dec 1st, so no surprise there.

I'm lucky the performance I'm going to has not been changed into a sing-along, cause I'd be really disappointed as I'm also traveling from abroad to see it and booked like a month ago. Anyway, I don't wanna go off-topic since there's a thread about this in the general section. Less than a week till I finally see this! 😃

Do we get the sense this show is becoming a little desperate in its final weeks?...

Nothing against them trying to make a few more quid while they still can. It was a heck of a chance they took. Yeah I say let them milk it for all it’s worth- it’ll be gone in a few weeks anyway. Meanwhile do continue my Theatreboard proposal planning ...I fear this is turning into a mass wedding
