Having a look at the TRH website, 1st of November matinee is close to be sold out (I'd say it's 85-90% full). That's when I'm going, and for a midweek matinee, it's impressive. Is that day a bank holiday in the UK (it is here in Spain)? Cause that could explain it. I hope it's not full of annoying fangirls.

My children are off next weeks, but their cousins up north are off the week after.

Just reading the cast bios over at the website, all of them are brief and professional sounding, and then there's CHF's gasping unedited mess of one:
Concerts include: Carrie’s solo concert debut in 2018 where she sold out four shows of When the Curtain Falls at Cadogan Hall over one weekend and played to over 3,000 fans [...] alongside her acting, literary and music career, Carrie is an established online presence with over 537,000 followers on Twitter, 468,000 on Instagram and over 651,000 subscribers to her YouTube channel with over 1 million views every month.
Good Lord calm down.

Love an announcement about an announcement. Was hoping we would at least have a release date though.

Yeah it's bizzare. In the programme, you get a pullout with the cast info, and the whole Cast have just a list of credits, like a square each. Then she gets a bio the size of four of the regular cast bios.

Ughhh It's like she's trying to promote herself as a massive draw but we all know there is a REAL STAR in the West End just now, and one Patti-glare would have CHF crapping her stretchy pants. Has anyone seen the understudy (Olivia Moore)? I hear she sounds better in the role, but this could be The Internet determined to knock Carrie down some pegs.

I’ve heard a recording of the whole show the Olivia did (not gonna say where cause it was illegally recorded but I couldn’t help myself to have a listen) and Olivia definitely has a more trained crisp and clear vocals and I do personally prefer it cause I find Carrie can be a bit shouty at times and I found Olivia’s accent better, just my opinion though, I still think Carrie is great!

I don’t necessarily think Carrie is trying to ‘promote herself’, she doesn’t get creative choice over what goes in the programme I don’t think. One thing that does irk me about it though is that ‘Westerburg’ is spelt differently to how it is on the set

I've seen plenty of programmes where the star sometimes gets a whole page of the programme compared to everyone else.

Patti and Rosalie get a page each, Jonathan and Mel get half a page each and then the rest of the cast get standard square each.

Apart from being a tight Yorkshireman, the other reason I no longer buy a programme is because I'm afraid I have zero interest in the actors bios. If I was interested, I could look up an unedited version in two seconds.
Edward Fox has the right idea, but at 81, he's probably beyond caring!

With a lot of speculation of a future life for the show, I wonder if maybe waiting until next summer to do another limited run of 12 weeks from mid June to early September might be the way to go, possibly preceded by a short tour. The sales for the school holiday weeks are very strong and it can’t be an expensive show to run.
Will be interesting to see what happens.

it can’t be an expensive show to run. God I wish someone had told the greedy producers this before pricing this show to the extreme levels they did at The Other Palace.

I think this would do well on tour but at smaller venues and not the top ones (eg the Alexandra in Birmingham and not the Hippodrome). Teenagers would flock to see it. They just need to abolish midweek matinees and make 4 show weekends. Then sales would be better.

I wonder if they considered a Sunday performance for the West End run but it proved too cost prohibited.

I wonder if they considered a Sunday performance for the West End run but it proved too cost prohibited. This is what they should of done. I actually think they shouldn't of bothered with a Monday night and midweek matinee, they should of done a two show Saturday and Sunday, get the young'uns in. I don't know what cost effect this would have, but the ticket sales would make up for it I'm sure.

I'm not THAT up on it (so someone who is do correct me) but I think Equity recently revised Sunday pay rates or similar? that has had an impact on that sort of thing. Or maybe the Haymarket didn't want to pay their staff for a Sunday as well. But I agree, it would have packed them in outside the School holiday period.
