I always thought it would go into the Phoenix. We'll see for how long Guys & Dolls will run I think G&D will close at the end of its period. I'm almost certain that The Girls will bag this theatre!

Possibly. I just think Finding Neverland shouldn't go into a theatre that is too big. I think the Phoenix is the ideal size

I think the Phoenix is the ideal size Defiantly agree that FN shouldn't go into a huge theatre, e.g. Drury Lane, it has a MUCH better chance in a smaller theatre like Phoenix, Aldwych or New London

The Phoenix has no wing space unless you'd want to see a massively downsized production of the show

Thanks for the link. I saw it on Broadway and this proves how miscast Alfie is. This is not an opera. Ramin cannot play every role though he is perfect for anything. I believe Hadley is doing more drama with only a few musical gigs. Look at what he has been doing, far away from MT. I am fairly sure he will be with Ramin in July at the Palladium even if he is not an announced guest. Ramin confirmed that Hadley was joining him in his engagement in July at the Palladium. www.cuffeandtaylor.com/whats-on/ramin-at-the-palladium

I have recently discovered the joy that is Finding Neverland. Beautiful songs and magical storytelling. Are we all looking forward to it arriving in London next year? Does anyone know exactly when it is due to premiere, at which theatre and who is rumoured to be cast yet? I'm hoping for a reprise of Matthew Morrison and Laura Michelle Kelly for sure. I love this musical and personally cannot wait! ?

Are you judging it based on the recording only?
It's not a very good show.. And bringing it here will be a disaster, BUT I know people working on its and it IS happening. Opening Feb/March 2017.. They have a theatre and it will be announced very soon.
Why Weinstein can't just write it off as a noble failure is beyond me.

Yes I am solely judging it on the recording. I guess I like the music and its seems a gentle family show. Why do you say it's not a very good show and bringing it here will be a disaster? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts before I spend money on buying a ticket next year!

I saw it on Broadway last year, and it was not pretty. It's just a bit of a mess, with some ok songs.
I still cannot imagine Alfie Boe as Barrie either!

Doesn't seem an obvious fit to me. It's a shame to hear you thought the show was a mess. I think I'll reserve judgement for now and hope they tighten the show up for London...

Each to their own certainly but I really enjoyed it on Broadway. Perhaps I went in with no/low expectation but I had a fun couple of hours-and as noted the music is good, I've listened to the recording a lot since.
But please yes, no Alfie Boe. While his fans will flock he isn't a fit for the role in my opinion.

I asked Baz about this show the other day and he said that they were still negotiating with Theatres so this is interesting.

I also had a perfectly good time when I saw this in New York last year. It's by no means perfect and might well go the way of recent movie-to-musical adaptations in London but it's well worth seeing. I saw Matthew Morrison's understudy Kevin Kern as Barrie who was pretty good.
I don't really see Alfie Boe in this either. Actually I saw a clip of him singing "Neverland" after which I immediately had to listen to Morrison's version again to wipe it from my brain. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Alfie's voice and went back to see Les Mis after a long hiatus just for him, but he's completely wrong here.

I personally thought that while some songs were good, overall it was a bit of a mess. Too many filler songs and some that lightens what should be a touching and serious piece. In my opinion the musical cheapens the emotional story of the film. However All That Matters is breathtaking! However, I certainty don't want to put a damper of anyone's excitement. Just goes to show how different things appeal to different people I suppose.

When i saw it in March, I remember enjoying it at the time, but apart from 'All That Matters' and the 'Neverland reprise'(more for the actual scene than the music) eveything else was just forgettable. I listened to the cast recording last week, and I honestly have no memory of most of the song on it.

I saw it on Broadway and thought it was alright. Not amazing but not a disaster either. There were some nice songs and Laura Michelle Kelly was wonderful. I didn't see Matthew Morrison but his understudy was good. However, there's a scene at the end that is worth the ticket price alone in my opinion.. Seriously beautiful.
It's a show I will watch again if someone I like ends up being in the cast but not one I will rush to get a ticket for no matter what.

Does anyone know if there is even the slightest chance Matthew Morrison might open the show in London? Thanks

I saw it on Broadway with Alfie Boe and Kelsey Grammer and was underwhelmed by Boe and the music. Can't recall a single tune from it. Kelsey Grammer was lots of fun and the staging has some nice moments, though.

Does anyone know if there is even the slightest chance Matthew Morrison might open the show in London? Thanks I think Alfie Boe has already signed a contract, so it's extremely unlikely, but there's a chance for everything!

Sad face. Please, no Alfie Boe for London - he's too old and too operatic for Finding Neverland. I hope he hasn't already signed a contract as this show surely needs a more youthful JM Barrie who can sing a decent pop score.

I'd love to see what theatre this goes to. I hope it doesn't go Drury Lane
