I do have one but, as usual, didn't get the email... will await news from a more reliable source, i.e. here! Same here!

Very disappointing. Was waiting for a real and exciting surprise.
As much as I love Curious is far too soon to have it back in the West End.

I see they're relaunching the card as TheatreCard Classic (equivalent to current membership and still £35 if paying by DD) and TheatreCardPlus (costlier version at £59 by DD additionally offering Ticket Protection (T&Cs apply, naturally) and access to an invitation-only Facebook group with exclusive content and announcements. The 10% bar discount has disappeared from both versions... www.atgtickets.com/theatrecard/benefits/

Let's hope @ryan isn't a member then, or he'll be up in arms - or the insouciant equivalent, if there is one.

The ticket protection coverage is pretty poor unless you are a member of the armed service or travelling a long distance securemybooking.com/make-a-claim/atg-tickets/

I've just had a look at the new card benefits, and to be honest, I think I'll be going with the TheatreCard Classic option when my current card is up for renewal next March. For me, I don't think the more expensive option offers anything additional that would be of interest for the extra cost incurred. I am assuming that current card holders like myself will be put on the Classic option at renewal time and then you can upgrade if you so wish?

Currently debating renewing mine in anticipation of next March's renewal. With the exception of the Tim Minchin pre-sale and some cheap Miss Saigon seats its not had any real action or benefit this year.

Correct - mine's up for renewal in December and just transfers automatically to the Classic. Without even pushing the Plus on me! Agree the Plus option really does add anything to warrant the extra cost.

Not exactly about the card, but are you able to buy tickets from the New Wimbledon Theatre box office in person, and does that save any money, i.e. AGT's booking fee? Decided I'm going to see Paul Merton in Aladdin again after Christmas and if I can save even a few pounds at the box office it'll be worth it!

You don't get the drinks discount with the classic version which has been causing a lot of drama in my work, as the vast majority of customers don't seem to be aware of the loss of the discount.

I am a ATG member, but even as a member I am being hit with a costly transaction fee, does anyone know how to avoid this please? First, if you're booking online, you need to log in with your ATG card number. Then ATG usually offer several alternative prices for the same show, some of which are special members' prices without transaction fees listed as "ATG member". You should choose the cheapest price as ATG member. Then you pay no fees. Even if you're a member and choose the wrong non-ATG member option, you'll be charged a fee. Sneaky!

Even if you're a member and choose the wrong non-ATG member option, you'll be charged a fee. But you can phone them and get it refunded. Indeed you can, but they keep you waiting for ages before answering the phone and I think it's a premium number.

There’s supposed to be a special phone line for card holders, it’s in the list of benefits, but I can’t find the number.

I have sympathy for bar staff, as they didn't exactly make it clear that they were taking away that benefit when they relaunched the card. In fact, I probably wouldn't have noticed had it not been mentioned on here. I've just looked back at the email they sent me for the card relaunch, which just has a list headed "Your new benefits will include...", which leaves open the suggestion that they just didn't mention that specific benefit in the email. According to that email, the dedicated members line is 0330 102 7200, Mon-Sat 9am-10pm, Sun/BH 10am-8pm. Calls at "geographical rate".

Having been to the Duke of York’s theatre tonight I chanced my arm and presented my Theatre card (the classic one) to the bar staff when purchasing a bottle of water go see if I would get a 10% discount. He put it through the till and I got the discount. When I asked if that was correct as the new cards don’t have the drinks discount, he told me the bar staff haven’t been told not to give the discount. I’ll be interested to see if other ATG venues have a similar policy or whether I just got lucky tonight and was a one off.

They can’t just stop the discount if people have paid for a year’s membership with that as one of the benefits. I’m assuming that the drink discount stops when your membership renews and your new card number will then reject at the till.

I have been successful on priority booking in getting great seats but i sometimes question as to why i have the atg card. I go a couple of times a month to my local theatre.

(I've no idea how to quote 2 posts so if someone can add david from a few posts previous in to this, or tell me how to, that'd be great) A sneaky thing that most people don't know about, which they really should change, is that you can type any numbered code into the till and the discount will always go through. So even if its an old card or a card without the drinks discount benefit, it will always work.

Interesting comments from yourself cheesy116 .I’ve got the new classic card so I was really surprised I got the drinks discount at the Duke of York’s a few weeks ago (TBH, I just chanced my arm with the discount as I was under the impression that the drinks thing had stopped with the new cards.). I tried it again on Monday at my local ATG venue, the Liverpool Empire and got the discount again. I’m not complaining, but just surprised that it’s still being allowed if it isn’t meant to be part of the new card.

I work for the Glasgow ATG theatres and we've definitely been told that the new classic card doesn't include discount, although I've seen some people give it anyway as next to no-one is aware of the loss of the discount and it gets very awkward having to tell them. Its easier just to give them it by typing in a random number on the till, to avoid confrontation. Short term gain but in the long run the patron will wonder why sometimes they get it and sometimes they don't. The best way to solve this is to tell them up front in the renewal email they don't get the discount but then that will maybe stop people from renewing.

For anyone who cares, the discount for drinks has been reinstated for all ATG cards. There must have been a lot of complaints.
