What the actual hell... is David Bedella even in this?! My second time seeing it this month and he ia off again! I actually really liked Vas last time so I shouldn't complain really but for god sake David! Jocasta on for Vanessa Vas on for Kevin Michael on for Piragua He mentioned on Facebook last Wednesday that he wouldn't be in the show for the next two weeks. I've seen him 9 out of 10 times. Your timing is just bad. ;-)

I've also seen Vas 5 out of my 7 times as Kevin and though I liked both his and David's portrayals I could say I prefer Vas a bit more.
Already booked 2 out of my 3 June visits to the barrio. These 96 days between my visits really feel like 96000!

The show yesterday afternnon and it was brilliant, with Phillipa and Josie once again stealing the show. The big event in Act II with the candles (I wont spoil it) caused alot of tears and emotion in the thestre. It made me cry even though i have seen it before, it was just a beautiful scene and amazingly staged.
GOD I LOVE THIS SHOW!

Did you go twice in one day?

Did you go twice in one day? Sorry, I meant to put yesterday afternoon... I saw the matinee but my original thoughts were written in the interval.

Oh right cool. Nothing wrong in going twice in one day BTW. I've done four times in two days before. (Different show though).
I've just booked to go to ITH again. Yay!

Its still incredible, the dancing and lighting in particular... Phillips and Josie are on FIRE this afternoon, just brilliant! I am not the biggest fan of Lili's vocals, I much preferred Gabrielle's Nina, but Lili is good. I'm loving it even more than the first time overall though. 96, 000 and the Act I Finale still give me chills. You aren't? How interesting. I thought she was the best thing in the show personally, i raved about her when i saw it and here vocals were what most people seemed to be commenting on around me and in the interval. Maybe it was an off night or it's taking it's toll on her. I've heard some clips recently and they haven't been as strong as i remembered. I 100% agree, I thought Lily was absolutely phenomenal, and she would be in my top 5 leading actress's in musicals for 2015 (which is Lily, Imelda Staunton in Gypsy, Emma Thompson in Sweeney Todd, Phillipa Soo in Hamilton and Carly Hughes in Chicago). Really surprised she didn't receive an Olivier nomination, at least she got nominated for a Whatsonstage Award! Thought ITH was such a great show and it should give English audience's a taste of what Hamilton will be like.

She's got a lovely tone to her voice but I wasn't blown away by her performance.
It's a shame Hamilton's buzz doesn't seem to be coming over the pond much yet and helping ITH.
I've heard Hamilton is more RnB than ITH, is that correct?? (I don't listen to soundtracks before seeing shows.)

The song has a very diverse set of songs for all, in my opinion, i.e: You'll Be Back, Burn, etc, etc.

Not as well as it's done in NY, anyway.

I was even about to write entirely (with a footnote to to exclude the King George numbers) instead of mostly.

Don't modulate the key and not debate with me! I'm sorry, I had to do the Hamilton reference, I just couldn't 'say no this this'. Ok, I'm sorry, I'll stop now.

Ok, I'm sorry, I'll stop now. You don't have to stop, I just tried to point out that we experienced the very same score completely different. For me, it was almost entirely Rap, something you won't agree to, and for you, it's a diverse score, that's something I won't agree to. Let's just agree to disagree, return to discussing ITH here and keep the Hamilton discussion to its own thread.

I fear you misunderstood me, I was just joking around a bit with some Hamilton references. My message wasn't meant to be taken literally, saying I'll stop was about the bad puns. Don't want you to agree with me, it's actually great to chat to someone who didn't like the show for once, just felt like some puns. Sorry if you misunderstood my bad puns, I guess they weren't punny!

What the actual hell... is David Bedella even in this?! My second time seeing it this month and he ia off again! I actually really liked Vas last time so I shouldn't complain really but for god sake David! Out of 7 times I've seen this, Vas has been on as Kevin for 3 of them. I suspect that it won't be long before he officially has the role full time. The only cast I'm at 7 out of 7 for are: Joe as Benny Sam as Usnavi Cleve as Sonny As great as they all are, I'd love to time a visit to see the covers in those roles (I hear that Cleve does a brilliant Usnavi as second cover, but he can't tweet he's on until just before the show).

I was thinking this. I'd love to see Cleve as Usnavi but he said it's unlikely to happen again but I guess you never know. I can't understand Philippa being second understudy to Camila anymore now she's full time Daniela. I'd definitely be up for a different Nina, and maybe even Benny too.

just as it was with Once in good old pre-Ronan times I am more than happy to see all the covers in all the possible combinations here. Sooo jealous as my friend was there for Cleve's Usnavi this Sunday!

Something else I was thinking about, I was just looking at Production Photos and no disrespect to Victoria who I am sure was amazing in the role of Daniela, but she looks a bit too old to be playing her in the Photos. I get that she was pregnant and that is not her fault if that had anything to do with her looks etc, even though pregnancy really does not work for thay character having seen the show now but Phillipa is a really sexy girl and looks stunning in the role, as I assume Daniela should be based on the way the character is performed or written?
Though I credit Victoria on pulling off the role whilst heavily pregnant and I am sure she was fantastic in the role despite these issues.

I can understand that, I think it is more because both times I have seen it I have seen, and been blown away by Phillipa in the role that I can't imagine it being played in any other way. It's not just you either, the Original Broadway Production had her as older, this is the first time she at least looks young and plays it as sexy and sassy. I would of been really intrigued to see a different take on the role, though it just goes to show how great the role is that anyone can play it successfully!

That makes sense. I wish I'd seen her but Phillipa is amazing.
Re Cleve, maybe we should all Tweet or email and ask for a definite date for him being Usnavi. (Yes they'll never be able to guarantee it etc. but it'd be great to say I'd seen all three as Usnavi.)
