I love my slow cooker. There is something magical about coming back from work to a house smelling of slow cooked chilli. Frying off mince beef at 6:30 is still a weird experience. I always have one or both of the following uneasy feelings: - I didn't set up the timer plug correctly, and I will come home to a house not smelling of slow cooked chilli. - the flat will burn down when I'm at work. Only time will tell...

Ok, just for you tm, picture moi on sofa with iPad on lap checking theatreboard. Small coffee table just in front and to side of me almost touching sofa. Beloved comes up to place mug of tea on said table, but stumbles so mug tips on the part of my bum and upper thigh ( ok stop picturing) close to the little table as moi attempts hastily to get to upright position chuckling iPad to floor and knocking over little table whilst making yelping noises.

The interval music is loud. And there are two drumkits onstage. This is promising.

At least that means you were hit at the side rather than underneath so hopefully you should still be able to sit down. When I saw your first post I imagined something like you being bent forward picking something up & someone walking past, tripping & hitting you right on the seat. In other news, I spent much of today wanting to commit SAPicide. For those who don't know what SAP is, count yourselves lucky!

I think in "I'm not entirely sure why they're making new music" I may have just heard the single dumbest thing I've ever encountered walking out of a (bloody lovely) gig.

Reminds me of Ramona Quimby The novels I used to listen to the audio cassettes As a child In fact narrated by Stockard Channing One story was the “crockpot” Wasn’t turned on And they had no evening meal

That was their mistake right there. They should have turned the crockpot on.

I am happy to report that the slow cooker was turned on, and the flat smelled of food when I opened the door. No crisis.

Thinking about visit to Bridge th tomorrow night. How do I persuade my companions to order the madeleines? They won’t want to. Should I say I’m doing research for Theatreboard?

Dear Mr Snow(!),
CLUB LOVE for the Elton John AIDS Foundation in association with Bulgari
Wednesday, 29th November 2017, London
Reception 7:00pm, Dinner 8:30pm, After Party 11:00pm, Carriages 2:00am
We are delighted to invite you to an exciting new experience, CLUB LOVE for the Elton John AIDS Foundation in association with Bulgari on Wednesday 29th November 2017 in London. As we head into the festive season, Club Love will be a fun, contemporary cabaret evening, featuring all kinds of wonderful entertainment, hosted by Graham Norton and with a very special performance by Sam Smith. The night will also feature installations by the incredible Italian artist, Edoardo Tresoldi who has recently been included by Forbes amongst the 30 most influential European artists under 30. Our fundraising focus for the event is helping LGBT+ people in countries where they are persecuted, stigmatized and so prevented from easily accessing HIV treatment. The event will coincide with a major new photo essay series of projects and individuals the Foundation are working with to fight stigma, give everyone the necessary HIV testing and medicine they need and help end AIDS. Our work in this area is a huge undertaking, but it is a challenge we must face, because preventing vulnerable people from contracting HIV protects everyone. The fewer LGBT+ people are living with HIV, the fewer people can pass it on. We need to ensure that no one gets left behind. Bulgari’s generous support enables us to use your contribution to help these vulnerable groups of people. The team at our office would be happy to assist with your ticket requests, sponsoring the event, advertising in the programme or answer any of your questions on +44 (0)20 7603 9996 or events@ejaf.org. <DOWNLOAD TICKET REQUEST FORM HERE>
We very much hope you can join us so we can continue our important work.
With our warmest regards, David & Elton

^It's a lovely book, I'm half way through reading mine now. It really is! I didn't know it existed until I listened the NT Talks podcast yesterday. I think I will start reading about theatres I've already visited

Been in A&E with my old Dad since about a decade ago... OK 8 hours, but still, it’s gone midnight and we’re now waiting on a chest x-ray and someone to read his CT scan. Assuming I do ever get him home, or admitted, I fear I may sleep through King Lear at CFT this afternoon!

Stupidly happy that Wimpy may be making a major comeback. We still have a branch at Wembley Oh! Such memories of my best friend and me, loosening all the tops of those squeezy ketchup tomato thingys in our local branch then hiding outside and peering through the window to watch the fall-out! (Naughty I know, but we were only 24 at the time.....)

Stupidly happy that Wimpy may be making a major comeback. We still have a branch at Wembley, but the thought of the joys of "the greatest burgers under the bun" coming back nationwide pleases me something silly. My favoured burger outlet back in 6th form... nothing to do with the quality of the food but mostly because the branch near school was L-shaped which meant we could hide round the corner for a sneaky ciggie out of sight of passing teachers or prefects!

Spent a couple of hours randomly You-Tubing today and reacquainted myself with the wonderful pure vocal of Regina Spektor. Some footage of her gig at The Liverpool Empire in August, which I frustratingly missed, including her encore of 'Samson'. That song still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

My favourite burger place was Wendy's but they pulled out of the UK years ago. I think the closest Wendy's is now in Canada, which rather impairs the fast in fast food.
