Hands stink of gunpowder. Powdered guns. Just add water.

Yesterday I decided to take Mama-Emi for food before going to the theatre 'Yes let's grab a quick bite at Pizza Express' we said that's reliable for a decent pizza and quick.... An hour later no pizza. Now it was Saturday night, but it wasn't THAT busy. What really got my goat (instead of getting me a goat cheese pizza) was that a large party came in 30 minutes after us and were happily tucking into their main course while everyone in my corner had been thrown their dough balls or olives and left to watch longingly at the open plan kitchen. When I complained to the manager I didn't get even a 'sorry' ...suffice to say there's a strongly worded email headed Pizza Express' way....meanwhile we had a Burrito. That is so bad, Pizza Express has long been a favourite of mine as you say reasonable food and wine. Pesonally I'm a American Hot girl ! ( no comments please ! )

Just left Somerset House after seeing Goldfrapp - why do so many muppets insist on talking crap while there's a band onstage? - OK so it's good to see your friends, but I doubt it's been that long since you last saw them so don't proceed to talk bollocks at full volume while other people are trying to watch a show they paid good money for.

Great (as usual) - they only played for about an hour and twenty minutes though - got to twenty past ten and a few words about the curfew and that was it.

(the goat one was for Mum!) mmm American hot.
In terms of a nice Pizza Express story, a couple of months back I went to go in the branch on the Stand by Kings. The lovely waiter said 'I could seat you BUT I have a party of 40 school children on the way, do you want to go somewhere else?'
Yes dear we did. But we actually just went up to the Pizza Express by the ROH. That's how you do customer service and still keep people loyal!

Am in bad mood. Hurried home this morning after getting an email to say a parcel was going to be delivered. I wanted to intercept it before husband saw it as we have been having a clearout. - Husband has decided we need to get rid of things we don't use so kids will have less to deal with when we are dead. This mainly involves him taking my books to the charity shop. Of course I get back just as he answers door to postman . He looks at it & says "this looks like another book!". I hurriedly grab it & disappear. - Of course it is a book & a rather expensive one at that. To top it all when I open my credit card bill which has also come I find I have been charged twice for a theatre ticket I bought last month. I know I will get a refund but haven't got the cash now to pay bill so will have to queue at my bank first.

Just watched the first half of the pilot of The A-Team. It was cornier than I remembered, but not as corny as I thought I'd find it.
I'm in what is probably a small minority of people who thought it went downhill after Melinda Culea was forced out.

I'd struggle not to cross the line into murder Bibliocide? Doesn't bibliocide mean you'd be murdering the books? Whereas what is wanted is to save the books. Having looked it up, the correct word for killing your husband is mariticide, though none of the examples given on Wikipedia have attacks on books as a motive! Continuing my weather-related complaining, I think the weather is actively working against me. 11.30 this morning it was cloudy & spitting so I thought I'd be safe to go for a walk during the day for once. Within a few minutes the rain had stopped & the sun came through the clouds so I was boiling. Now I'm back home the sun has gone in again. Blooming typical!

Ooh I've just remembered I bought some lemon/lime Jaffas from M&S at the weekend. I'll be scoffing some of those tonight and that thought has improved my day greatly. (which so far has involved me crying at HR as a starting point for the day and hasn't improved much from there)

Im spending the day at a neurologists appointment with my other half. Shes been having a very tough time of it lately so hoping this will shed some light. We have the issue come November of our current GPs closing down, we moved there because we were unhappy with the treatment at the other local surgery so wait with trepidation as to where they will send us as can't face returning to a surgery that was so unhelpful

Fingers crossed. Hopefully the fact there is still an ongoing complaint about the suggestion that her 5 years of visual impairment was all in her mind will mean we are allowed to move to a surgery even though we are slightly out of the catchment area. There arent any other choices we fall within

Excited. Finally. Season 5 Chicago Fire begins tonight (and I've managed to avoid all spoilers from America.)
I know. I need to get out more...

I am in no way complaining about getting to spend a couple of weeks working in our US office, but I did get picked up for work at 7:20 this morning and have only just got back to the hotel at 7:45 this evening, after post-work drinks, and I'm flipping exhausted!

Just back from holidaying on Corfu yesterday. As much as I love to GO on holiday, I love coming home to my own bed and proper coffee just as much. Catching up on everything here and elsewhere before going back to work today. For those who followed the brief chat in the other thread: There are actually little memorials for Larry and Gerry Durrell in the Spiadina park in Corfu Town, made me smile. Overall a very nice island but I'm glad we escaped before temperatures went back to 40°C. Now I'm looking into German rain and gloomy skies again. Sigh.
