Watched the Billy Monger comic relief documentary tonight. What a man! He is truly inspirational and puts most of us to shame. Watch it if you can. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000t94b

I went for a walk along the canal this morning and saw a mandarin duck hanging around with a couple of mallards. I've seen them in zoos but I've never seen one in the wild before, although according to the RSPB there are around 7000 of them in Great Britain.

I have occasionally seen them, i think it's the males that are that recognisable colour but i could be mis remembering. There's quite a lot of exotics that are pretty much at home here now, or at least regular visitors.

I thought the clocks had gone forward not back.
Not sure where my cheque book is and not sure how many places would accept payment by cheque now they are not guaranteed.

Just watched the last in the series of Unforgotten. Can't believe it! Such a great show. I also saw this last night. What a brilliant series and the end was such a shock. I was in bits when it finished. Superb acting all round.

As Friday is a Bank Holiday anyone keep thinking today is a Thursday ?
Anyway my office is delighted at the prospect of two short working weeks but eek it clashes with the end of the financial year so chop, chop, busy, busy, chop, chop x1000

As Friday is a Bank Holiday anyone keep thinking today is a Thursday ? Weirdly, I keep thinking it's Friday. I'm aware that it's a short week and I seem to be mentally lopping a day off that, so I keep having to remind myself that I still need to work tomorrow.
Part of it may be the influence of the eggs that are hanging around near the kitchen, sitting there being all chocolatey and edible. I'm determined not to start them until Friday and my mind keeps telling me that it must be Friday by now.

Always thought you could not indulge your passion for Easter Eggs until the Sunday, Good Friday is all about the Hot Cross Buns.
Not a fan of Hot Cross Buns and also have some Easter Eggs awaiting consumption, was waiting till Sunday but willing to reconsider on advice from this esteemed forum.

@thematthew, I thought I was the only one: I kept thinking it was Friday yesterday. Not sure what today is, then - working Saturday? (That's not a fun concept.) My office closes for 10 days starting tomorrow. I have no idea what I'll do with the free time, really, but it's still somehow exciting. Hope the weather will be decent so I can go for walks/runs and read books sitting next to the canal with a coffee in hand.
Also, I have bought no easter eggs or hot cross buns this year. I've put on some weight (not a lot, I don't think it's even noticeable but I know it's there), and am trying to cut down on sugar. I might get one package of HCBs for Sunday. Written down that makes me sound really boring, doesn't it? :)
On a theatre-related note, I've finally seen "Angels in America", and I'm absolutely in love with it. I wish I could have seen it at the NT, it must have been extraordinary. I am now dying to rewatch it (and I've only finished it last night), but 7 hours...

Went to Sainsburys last night, got caught behind a gaggle of LAMDA students going in, shopped for a bit, then decided I deserved a drink, then got found myself back in the midst of the same group.
In fairness, I can't say for sure they were all LAMDA, but one of them had his lanyard visible - and you can normally theatre school types. All very nice, but all very excitable!

Met with my small nephew and niece yesterday, my niece, 2, marched off into a wood and kept turning and shouting 'no, go away!' at me. I'm sure really like dontdreamit 's nephew she was crying inside at joy at seeing me!
