OhGeorge... She ain't gonna be coming back. Maybe start trawling Wetherspoons and you may find her? I can't see them announcing she'll be back by the 11th July and saying she wants to return and also saying that any information saying she won't return is untrue showing me that she won't return. If she wasn't going to return them why didn't they say that instead of messing people around? |

Hypothetically, if I was one of the producers, and I'd been called to the theatre one night because the leading was drunk and causing a scene backstage, and then I allowed that leading lady to have time off, I think I'd be at the end of my goodwill by now... and I'd probably just tell the press "She'll be back no later than July 11th".
That way, if the leading lady refuses to come back, the producers can wash their hands of her.

Seeing her in a show would be amazing. I never knew of her when she was in Legally Blonde so I never saw her in that! I would pay loads to see her do that again! She seems great from youtube clips! george22 - I sincerely hope you get to meet Sheridan one day soon. I have met (ie said "hello" to) many of my idols over the years and the mark of a true idol is they never disappoint being (in my experience) utterly charming although I always ensure I am polite and courteous to them.
EDIT I met (ie said "hello"to) Sheridan in the bar of the Menier Chocolate Factory after a performance of Funny Girl and seemed genuinely thrilled when I told her that I had seen her in all her stage work - Little Shop of Horrors, Legally Blonde, Flare Path, A Midsummer Nights Dream and Hedda Gabler! She's very down to earth and was very happy to chat.

I don't want to make you jealous, george, but I saw Sheridan Smith crossing the road, making for the stage door of the Old Vic when she was in Hedda Gabler. There was no-one else around, so I told her how much I was looking forward to seeing her, and how much I loved her in Little Shop of Horrors, and in Flare Path (one of the best performances I've ever seen...) She stopped and was charming. I spotted her again when she was in Funny Girl at the Menier, as all the actors have to walk through the bar to get to the stage door. This time it was hood up, headphones on, phone out and head down! No time for chat this time. I think things are different now...

george22 check my edited post - she was lovely when I met her at the Menier! I think after the show is better to catch performers, as before the show they tend to be focused on the performance ahead. Afterwards they are more relaxed and need to "come down" after the show!

Haha! george, I think many of us on here would PAY to see you bump into Sheridan Smith or any one if your idols! I think over the past few months we have seen how important such things are to you (as they are to many of us, myself included) and we have grown to love you just that little bit more... I almost look upon you now as Our Mascot! |

I met her after a show at the Savoy not long before her break and she was chatting to everyone. They say never meet your idols but I thought she was an utter joy.
You can't fake that.
