Since it looks like there are a few of you who have seen the show many times, what has changed since previews? I saw the show a few times in July (which was good because they had time to tighten things), but I'm always curious how shows evolve.

I saw this last night and agree that the sound was slightly off at the beginning of the show! Bill Nighy was in the building, nice chap. The illusions all but ONE I managed to figure out. I really am in love with this show and there was a great atmosphere last night. Hoping audiences keep coming to this. I think we might have spoken to each other last night 🤣

I've seen this before but would quite like to go again before it closes. Does anyone know if there's a way to get cheap tickets for this? I had a look today in case they'd reduced some seats for tonight's show, but £50 for a stalls seat is still a bit much for me. And not sure about sitting in the side seats in the Bayliss circle for £39 if it's a terrible view!

You might get lucky with a £39 raar stalls seat on some dsts but dynamic pricing seems to be heading north again after some lower prices recently.

I’ve now had the always interesting treat of seeing the same person cover two different “lead” roles during this run and while, unfortunately, her Rita a few weeks ago left me somewhat cold, I really enjoyed Aimée Fisher’s Nancy yesterday.
Relatedly though, it’s a shame Eve Norris has now been out for the majority of the last - I think - three weeks, as she’s also doing lovely work as Nancy. I imagine it must be very frustrating to have to miss so much of a limited run. I hope that whatever has been going on she makes a full recovery soon.

She was a wonderful Nancy when I saw her in early July.

Eve was on when I saw the show on Friday and she was great as Nancy. I was there on Friday too. I've seen this a few times (think that was number 5 of this run, + possibly 6 on the last run) and MAN the atmosphere on Friday night in the audience was amazing. The cast were superb. I mean, really electric, absolutely buzzing. It's a lovely thing to sit next to someone who clearly hasn't seen it before and all the lines and lyrics are new (bow to the lady next to me). I can't think there were any *understudies on Friday - however, on Friday the *Conductor had hair!! Changes - the "cow tipping was last month" has gone. Nothing else springs to mind. Each time I come away with a new appreciation for something - the lighting (!!), the staging, the dances, the flag choreography .... Loved Friday night (apart from small child in the audience at the end of Ned's song kicked off and had to be taken away).

I hope that someone, somehow (legally) captures this on film. It's too good a show to get forgotten about with time.

I paid £22 for the front row of the upper circle, which I eventually changed for £25 side Dress Circle a few days before due to the legroom.
I’m sure that perfect front stalls seats are expensive. I have always found that a level of sacrifice is required for more affordable theatre tickets; be that a restricted view or leaving it to the last minute.

I want to see this before it closes, but it's so expensive Hi Ladidah - try booking the day before or on the day if you can, as prices drop when there is sizeable availability. Alternatively, pick up a slip seat in the dress circle for around £39 or a bench seat in the Baylis for £19. Rear stalls seats are usually available for £39 and you can often pick up some front stalls B-D tickets for £39-£50. Hope this helps. Re: perfect front stalls seats... Row B (front row) is between £39 and £60 depending on demand. The premium space in the mid stalls rarely sells at the £120-£150 level the OV tries to get. I guess the average price in this space is closer to £90. Some people will pay the full whack, others who are tighter (like me) will wait for a deal to pop up. I love this show hugely but would never pay £140 to see it (or any other show). I baulked at paying £100 for Cabaret and was massively underwhelmed.

Saw this this afternoon. I remember the film, just about, from when it would have showed up on ITV regularly back in the 90s. Even though I know it’s popular on here I went in with fairly low expectations. Happy to say i was very pleasantly surprised. It takes a while to get going, but once it does it’s great stuff.

I want to see this before it closes, but it's so expensive I got £21 'restricted view' pillar seats in the dress circle, but my view was basically perfect. The pillar was to the right of my eye line so only obstructed the extreme side of the stage, but all the action happening in the middle and on stage right was totally clear

I've returned a last performance 2nd row stalls (showing on the Old Vic website), in case anyone is thinking of a last night visit. I do love me a last night (still going - and the matinee - you know, because I can).

The pillar was to the right of my eye line so only obstructed the extreme side of the stage, but all the action happening in the middle and on stage right was totally clear I was in E 36 last night...sounds like this could be the seat to which you are referring. Back row far right by the door. There is a pillar in view but it really doesn't spoil things. It didn't for me anyway. At £21 the seat is a real bargain. For my dodgy eyesight *puts glasses on to finish typing this post* it's a little far away. I could argue that all of the central dress circle seats are quite far from the stage at the Old Vic though. Yesterday was my second and final visit of this run. (I saw it once on Broadway and will likely see it if it tours/transfers too, fingers crossed) For the first five minutes I thought the sound was a little off from my seat but this really settled in so think it's more a case of the mix being a little odd during the first few numbers. After a while things really sounded excellent and a couple of times just like the cast recording. A few thoughts on this production which I hadn't noticed on the first viewing: 1) The slower ensemble singing 'If I had my time again' towards the end of the show has a beautiful feeling to it as though closing the story. I can't remember (already) exactly where this happens but it's a lovely addition. 2) I still found the new plinky plonky piano bashing orchestration as the start of 'If I had my Time Again' a little odd and is a change I can't really get my head around. A similar opinion on the start of 'Seeing You' which begins a lone moving guitar riff rather than the more sparse original orchestration. I don't have an issue with these additions/alterations but would love to be a fly on the wall in the room when the decisions were made and find out why! I will always love Groundhog Day and hope to see this again tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrowwww...

Anybody aware of any current deals on Groundhog Day? Recent days have seen a fair amount of availability but seats on the OV site have been priced at the upper end of their dynamic pricing, yet they seem to be shifting by the bucket load on the day. No deals to be seen on TKTS - am wondering how they are shifting so many on the day...

Any more word on the rumoured Savoy transfer?
Is it happening?

I have overheard quite a few people getting walk-up deals on the day while waiting to go in, but other than that I’ve not a clue! As recently as last week tickets were going down in price on their site (eg I got a £90 seat for £30) after 10am on the day, which explained the amount of on-the-day bookings then, but if that’s not happening anymore I’ve no idea how they’re managing it!
