And now a question I’ve been longing to ask you, @posterj: are you a dancer on Strictly? Ha - I wish! I have met a few of them in the past (none of the current pros), but I am nothing more than an amateur competitive and social dancer

No shock. Janette isn't a great ballroom dancer and can't teach it. This isn't the first time she's had a decent parter struggle with ballroom. On another note has Kelly Jones got a portrait in his attic. He's barely aged in 20 years! Great dance from Chloe and Neil (and from Neil and Katya in the intro) I hope they get partners next year. Neil may be waiting for one of the male pros to leave and is next in line. Despite being young AJ seems to have some decent choreography ideas so I wonder if Chloe only being young too doesn't have enough choreography experience to be a pro yet. Plus having two pro couples and one of each as a show dancer keeps it nice and even. I would have thought Neil would be a decent choreographer given his age and he is certainly a good enough dancer. Personally I would have liked to have seen Chloe given a go instead of Amy or certainly Diane.

Better to have a story than to be so bland and uninteresting that nobody cares. Has Mollie uttered one memorable sentence in the last seven weeks? She said she 'literally loved dancing' and made me pull my hair at the use of literally. In the last week four small children have queried my dislike of her though and have not appreciated my liking of Anton's comedy routines so it takes all sorts.

Does anyone know where they are filming the demonstration dance sequences with professionals shown on It Takes Two and hosted by Jason, the series’ choreographer? (Tonight was the paso with Pasha and Chloe.) The venue looks stunning!

I haven't really got a favourite celebrity dancer this year but for some reason I really like watching AJ dance. I know he looks really young but he seems like a really elegant dancer without being too over the top.

I know you're never watching it again, Tibidabo, but it starts slightly earlier this week. I'd hate you to turn the TV on to catch the last few minutes of Pointless, and end up with Strictly instead!

^ Indeed! I do hope she doesn't switch on hoping to catch heart-throb Richard Osman and all she gets is Gorka, topless, strutting his little tushie in the Agentine Tango.... Oh, that would be a di-sahhh-ster, darling!

I was so busy thinking about Gorka's r's I forgot the one in A rgentine! Ha! Well, he'd better be careful that Alex doesn't kick him up the Rs tomorrow - that dance is a bit risky isn't it? (Not that I'll be watching of course... )

Looking forward to tonight's show with the extra pressure piled on after last week’s shock eviction and for “getting to Blackpool” in case anyone had forgotten! ( Tibidabo , I have been looking through the TV guide to try and work out what you’ll be tuning into instead after your self imposed ban on viewing. You’re in luck- there’s the International Rugby Union on BBC2, which looks quite good; a repeat of You’ve Been Framed (hilarious!) followed by Ninja Warrior UK on ITV, and then on Channel 4 you’ve got Volatile Earth (no idea, but doesn’t sound your sort of thing if I’m being completely honest) followed by the Formula One Racing. You are literally spoilt for choice. There again you might have taped something to watch instead... Or you could go out. But let’s face it, nobody over 50 goes out on a Saturday night any more, do they...? NB as a gesture of goodwill to show there are no hard feelings towards you for highlighting my poor spelling in front if all, and as you will NOT be seeing Gorka dance this evening, I have changed my avatar momentarily for you. It’s a backstage photograph of your favourite pro dancer seen rummaging around in search of Len’s pickled walnuts.)

But let’s face it, nobody over 50 goes out on a Saturday night any more, do they... I? @caiaphas , I was kind this time and corrected your post for you. But I am touched by your efforts to provide me with entertainment for the evening. However, don't worry, it looks as though I will be busy threading needles.......to sew up my sides that have just split. (Volatile Earth sounds far too much like my day job to spend my Saturday night on. You'll have to try harder.) Edit: I see you've edited your post. Thank you for the picture but, as you can see, I've already got one of my own. You really do have to try harder, though obviously your efforts are greatly appreciated.

I honestly don't know why there's all this fuss about making it to Blackpool. I'm neither a pro, nor a celebrity, but even I've danced in the Tower Ballroom. It's really not difficult. All you have to do is pay the admission fee!!! And Tibidabo, nice bit of Photoshopping, that. But where did you get my picture from?

All these Gorka-alikes on here! I may just offer my house for the next meet-up! Anyway. Here we are @caiaphas . Pickled walnuts duly found after rummage.🍒

Dance 1 - Susan and Kevin
Well she was dragged round that floor with very little flair and no tango feel
I am somewhat surprised she is still in the competition.
The singing of the track was very poor as well.

Dance 2 - Joe and Katya
Not a very fluid Rumba sadly. Too sharp, too grabby. Storytelling ok. Hips really absent.
Really difficult dance

Now I totally agree with everyone wearing the poppies to show respect but do they really need to wear one with every training outfit in the VT? Its a bit contrived to be honest.

I really think that the judges are making comments based on other performances. All too often this series, we are seeing a massive disconnect between what is shown on screen and what the judges then go on to say.

( TallPaul middle, me left, theatreian right.) Please supply date, details, booze and nibbles. Ah. But I know you three! I remember that night well. ( TallPaul let me know if you want your corset back, 'cos if not I'll donate it to Oxfam.) Oh, and My Cat From Hell is really good tonight....

Dance 3 - Ruth and Anton
A really poor foxtrot - unsurprisingly.
Canes and boaters don't go with Mack the Knife.
It was clumpy, leaden and dull.
She has to go.

Dance 4 - Davood and Nadia - Charleston
Pretty decent swivel. Awful dress for her.
They clearly tired towards the end sadly. Lifts were ok - but there have been more ambitious.
A good attempt.
