Yep, expecting a same gender identifying couple. A whole barrel of questions to follow.

It needs to be decreasing the number of couples, not increasing them.
I’m sad Chloe’s gone without having a ‘proper’ partner. I think I’d like to see Neil with a partner (if he wants that) but I don’t want double the Katya choreography.

I just want Piers to be paired with another bloke. Not sure if his masculinity could handle that.

If Piers Morgan is on 'Strictly' then everyone connected with it and all of its fans who continue to watch it should hang their heads in shame. Who next? Rebekah Brooks? Andy Coulson?
Disgusting.

Yeah, if Piers Morgan *is* on the next series, that would seriously put me off watching the entire show until he leaves.

Yeah, if Piers Morgan *is* on the next series, that would seriously put me off watching the entire show until he leaves. In all fairness it should put anyone off watching the show after he left too if the producers indeed choose to include him in the next series. Much like Roseanne Barr has done this week, they should take the consequences of their actions even if it wrecks their career.

Scarlett Moffatt Maya JamaColeen RooneyJoey EssexLes Dennis Rachel ShentonPiers Morgan Dan Walker Michelle KeeganCheryl Gemma CollinsNadya Hussain Who?🤷♀️ Surely this is the Dancing on Ice list? Maya Jama is a rising star and has a young fan base so would be a good choice. Coleen Rooney is well known and Abbey Clancy won it so a WAG could be used again. But with a young baby would she want or need the hassle. Joey Essex could he remember the moves, would be fun to watch and very entertaining Les Dennis again well known, has a Panto lined up but they can work that as he'd unlikely get to last few weeks. Rachel Shenton won the Oscar and was a soapstar, provides younger female element so again very possible. Piers Morgan would he do it for the rumoured flat fee, would be great to watch him and Craig go at it. Would need a strong minded female pro to keep him in check. Dan Walker well known BBC guy, very tall so would likely be good at ballroom, if he was up for it, certain to be signed up. Michelle Keegan her husband did it 4 years back, has been rumoured to be doing it for years. Shied away from these type of shows after leaving Corrie, may be up for the challenge but could make several times that doing the Jungle. Cheryl if she wanted to do it, would be no brainer inclusion Gemma Collins would she be able to take the training regime? But can do the splits so musty be flexible. Each year or every couple of years the show has a "larger woman" so why not use GC. Again the right partner would be crucial, someone who really got on her back and she may walk, a more sympathetic one and they could be fun. Nadiya Hussain Don't think they have had a Muslim woman as a contestant before, not sure about bloke off the top of my head. Again she is well known and would be a good choice as regards diversity. How they would incorporate her head wrap into costumes would be fun too. But might she get a backlash for doing the more sensual dances with a male pro?

I’d love Nadiya to do it and I think they’ve toned dances down before to suit certain people. If I remember correctly, there were lots of comments about Cherie Lunghi’s Rumba for being respectful for her age or something. Of course it’s different and it can be done. They also can leave out one dance can’t they?! I was wondering if it would be OK for Nadiya to wear wigs as it wouldn’t be her hair we were seeing. If not they could go for Norma Desmond/Jennifer Saunders style turbans.

Ann Widdecombe apparently had a set of rules about what she would and wouldn't do.
Interesting point by D'James about Cherie Lunghi, I can remember Cherie being very elegant something the younger women didn't manage and she was up for wearing the short dresses as she looked/looks great for her age. She was paired with James Jordan who was young enough to be her son so maybe the Rumba wouldn't have been as intimate as he'd do with Ola. But I thought the Rumba was supposed to be slow and sensual whilst other dances are more "dirty and sexy" as Bruno or Craig might say.
There was a rumour they wanted Anneka Rice as this year's "older women" given the success of Debbie last year, Cherie and Pamela Stephenson in earlier years.

Cherie Lunghi's Rumba was one of the best they've ever had on the show, she was a great ballroom dancer too, just couldn't do the faster Latin dances as well.
Nadiya was talking about Strictly with Kevin Clifton on Twitter earlier this week, but she's said she won't do it as she thinks she has two left feet.

Poll now open on the same gender question. Just for fun and all voting is anonymous. Is this the year for a same gender couple?

I’ve always wanted Anneka Rice to do Strictly - I’m not sure if she could match Debbie though. I’m happy to be proved wrong. (Sidenote: I always thought Anneka was Swedish.)
Now to try and find that poll.

A Strictly poll, eh?
Yes please!
Preferably Ajay and his celebrity partner Tom Daley pole dancing...

Personally,I just think it should be up to the individual celebrities. It was a shame the backlash Susan Calman got last year for dancing with a man, even though that’s what she wanted.
I worry that once someone does dance with a same sex partner, the backlash against future gay contestants wanting to dance with someone of the opposite sex will be multiplied.
As I said though, if someone does feel strongly that they want to dance with someone of the same sex then they should be able to.

It is looking more likely that the lovely Neil will finally get a partner this year - which is about time.

He got more out of Judy Murray for the Christmas Special than Anton did in several weeks on the main show - so he definitely deserves a chance with a celeb on the proper show.

I know I shouldn't objectify - but there is something about ginger men that works for me!
