Can anyone think of a British actor, 40s or 50s, with prematurely greying hair and a sort of permanently surprised expression (upturned eyes, nose and downturned mouth? Can't remember his name or what I've seen him in, but he was at the Orange Tree on Saturday! Tim McMullan? It was Robert Portal! Just saw him on Nick Hornby's "Funny Woman". It's been giving me sleepless nights since June.

Tom Allen at Hello Dolly last night.
I think he thought we were coming over for an autograph but I actually wanted to look at the poster he was standing next to and didn't notice who it was until I was right next to him.
Continuing the British comedians theme, I spotted John Bishop at Waterloo later that night.

Probably doesn’t count, but I said hello to Rylan Clark last Saturday walking down the Haymarket. In fact a Mancunian took a photo with him and then asked me who he was. I told him and he didn’t believe me, went and asked a guy, who also said Rylan Clark and totally believed him??? 😆

Ben Daniels was at Hello Dolly yesterday Confirmed with one of the cast members, Wendy-Lee Purdy, meeting him: x.com/thebondigirl/status/1829286057332076815?s=46&t=U_eg6H3hI7v9FHf5TFJ_jAAnd Ben is also in the new season of The Rings of Power (on Prime Video), as the wise elf Círdan. He was also recently in season 2 of Interview with the Vampire, as the villain vampire Santiago. (IWTV is currently available on BBC iPlayer in the UK). Ben’s range is undeniable. I don’t know when he’ll be back on stage. I hope he’s doing well now given his longtime partner and husband, actor Ian Gelder, passed away last May.

Walking by a restaurant in Soho, I spotted in a window seat Jo Foster from Why Am I so Single. They were with friends, but also saw me, so I felt bold enough to pop my head inside and say hello and fan out for a moment.
They were so kind and friendly and got up to take a photo. Amazingly talented person and very gracious.

Not in the audience but I'll comment as I think quite a few people here would be interested in Sir Ian McKellen and a little bit of how he's getting on since his fall. I saw him this afternoon (Wednesday) along St Martin's Lane. He was paused outside the Noel Coward theatre having a brief perusal of one of the Slave Play publicity posters. He was instantly recognizable in profile as I neared. He took off again before I passed him and walked ahead of me further along the lane towards Long Acre. He looked great, I have to say, moving well and looking fine in a dark blue sort of casual-smart outfit. Really good to spot him looking so well, and as he walked, the back of him was very distinguishable from other pedestrians with his fantastic silvery hair which, it appeared to me, he is allowing to grow a bit. He looked like a fellow just out by himself having a nice walk about town.

Sat next to Harry Enfield and partner at Abigail’s Party last night at Stratford East. He was delightful…but particularly loved his almost last minute entrance, whilst the pre show music was playing ABBA’s Money Money Money…! It made this 50 something smile, anyway!

As this thread starts with a tribute to Alan Rickman, I'll add that he was sat behind me with Zoe Wanamaker when I saw Streetcar Named Desire at the Young Vic.
Also at the Young Vic, when I saw part of The Inheritance, Simon Callow and Christopher Biggins were in the audience. They were not sat together but I recall them chatting briefly before the show or maybe in the interval.

I'm almost halfway through series 2 of Sherwood and pretty preoccupied with what James Graham is doing.
I was pondering that at the Royal Court interval, leaning back against a wall staring into the middle distance thinking about arcs, when a familiar voice said ""yea yeah, don't worry about it" as it strode across me from right to left.
David Morrissey, who only has the one voice, was heading to the cloak room. If you go to theatre regularly in London, you see a lot of faces but not often when already so present in your mind. It was pretty neat. Might be the last man left in London who uses a comb/hair brush.

Rebel Wilson and Marisha Wallace at tonight’s performance of WAISS.
I noticed Rebel hadn’t returned for act 2. Which was very smart 😂

I sat next to Liz Carr (silent witness, good omens) at the proms, we are both wheelchair users. I tried not to be starstruck, she’s very talented.

Saw Ian McKellen at Brumus on Friday, he was in a table quite close to ours. Later on we saw him again at the Haymarket theatre.
