a while ago now but I saw Dustin Hoffmann and his niece (guessing, by the age) at the Pinter for Betrayal. Was quite star-struck! He was a few rows ahead of me in the stalls. At the interval he went and bought ice cream from the usher. Imagine going to the theatre and ending up sitting next to Dustin Hoffman...

Matthew Bourne and Fiona Bruce (not together) at ROH seeing Dances at a Gathering/The Cellist. It was also rumoured, but I didn't see him, that Daniel Barenboim was in the audience - the second ballet, The Cellist, was about his one-time wife Jaqueline du Pre

Miriam Margolyes and Patricia Hodge (not together) at Musik this afternoon. I was sitting just behind PH and she seemed to be very much enjoying herself! I saw Miriam Margolyes and Patricia Hodge at the Finborough a few years ago, and they were together.

At Pirate Queen tonight - Wendi Peters, Anita Dobson, Harriet Thorpe, Paul Taylor Mills, Aimee Atkinson, Rob Houchen and Sheridan Smith. Heard someone say Matt Lucas was there as well. I managed to miss every single one of them! The people behind me were talking about being able to see someone but they were also talking (quite seriously) about how many rounds they could have got in between 7:00pm and approx. 7:09pm when it started and how annoying it was to applaud the conductor who 'hasn't even done anything yet', so I was trying not to listen!

I was sat a couple of seats down from Jimmy Carr at Waitress last Friday (14th) and I then saw Graham Norton in the foyer.
I think it was a trade night as there were a few X-Factor-y people about but don't ask me their names.

Rob and Matt were sat together near me in the front stalls. A Les Mis reunion. Lots and lots of other theatre folks around too.

Just guessing here. At the 'hottest ticket of the year' Covent Garden Yesterday.... Box Auditorium left. Was that the designer Valentino? Together with two blonde models, one in Red and the other in Black. The ladies stood proudly at the front of the box and took a lot of selfies in the interval. I would never have noticed them if Mrs Snow hadn't pointed them out. Passing them on the way out, the girls were well over 6' in heels, at least 6" higher than the well tanned, suited and booted gent accompanying them. If it wasn't Valentino it was likely the head of a family business from Palermo. (The selfies became part of the Drama. The Director had a camera on the crowd before the Opera, projecting the house back at itself onto the safety curtain. Many made sure they got their picture of themselves projected on their phones. In act 11 the audience became part of the drama in effect warning us things were not as bright as they seem.)

Keith Lemon arrived at Back to the Future with about a minute before curtain up last night and had to get everyone to stand up so he could get his seat in the middle of the row

While waiting in the City of Angels queue outside the Garrick I saw Ian Hallard walk past, and I think Matthew Morrison passed a couple of minutes later too.
In the theatre I saw a woman hanging about on the aisle. I looked at her, expecting her to ask to get past, then I realised it was Nica Burns surveying the audience from the front of the stalls.

I found myself face to face with Matthew Morrison too last Friday! So handsome, and he'd be wonderful in either the leading roles of City of Angels

Well it wasn’t in a theatre, and they’re not theatrical types but I just walked past Gilbert and George (both wearing their masks, for those who care to know) near Spitalfields : it’s been so long since I saw anyone remotely famous that I felt I should share this with someone (I think everyone I know would not have a clue who G&G are, and would be even less impressed if they saw some of their art 😝)

They live a few door away from Tracey Emmin and quite a few arty people in the same street and have been going to the same cafe in Bethnal Green Road every day for ever.

For those of you thinking I lead a luxurious lifestyle after going to the Ivy at Tower Bridge last week:Nigel Farage made an appearance when I went for dinner at Boisdale in Belgravia last night. He didn’t hang around for long: I’m presuming he disappeared into a private dining room but I got the impression that it was more likely that he was sticking his head round the door to see if there was anyone he could scrounge a drink off.
