Joel Grey giving his near-neighbour B. Cumberbatch a friendly hug during one of the intervals at final Angels in America yesterday. Also, Sondheim was there...although he may have just been caught up in interval foyer rush on his way to the Olivier for Follies business. Exhausted and still reeling from long day at the National.

Yes I saw Benny last night too having been alerted by frosty. Just mentioning cos he was in row behind me to the left of me. The woman sitting in front of me was actually trying to get a photo of him by doing a sideways selfie, very unsuccessfully. She kept on trying again and again. Mindless inanity. I wanted to pop my own head to the side so she got me instead but coward that I am I thought she might react badly.

Also, I'd rather have you in my selfie lynette, than Mr Beaver Dam Candlestick.

Timothy West and Prunella Scales at tonights screening of Edward II at the BFI - when Ian McKellen decided to go to the back of the auditorium to meet some of the producers of the original stage show rather than taking the usual side exit at the end, the hordes descended on them like a zombie apocalypse with their phone cameras at the ready, the poor sods.

It's not news that Cumberbatch was at Angels last week (or that I nearly shoved him out of the way) but my NT spies have informed me he not only managed to blag one of the last programmes but the cheeky bugger asked for a "staff discount" sweetie you last worked at the NT 6 years ago, and I think with all that Marvel money you can spring for a fiver. Or just pay on your black Amex and get money off that way.

That reminds me of a story I heard years ago, about Joan Collins going antique hunting down Portobello Road (at the height of her Dynasty fame) and asking for trade discounts on her purchases.

It's not worth a thing unless it's spread around, encouraging young things to grow.

Though reports from 'Frankenstein' front row suggest no amount of manure would help things...grow...... ....I'm talking about the ridiculous hair he had for it you filthy individuals.

I don't think you did, Emi ;-) That topic came up when I met friends after they have seen Cat and one said something about big enough to be seen concerning Jack O'Connel. Wonder why that "Ben in Frankenstein comparison" came into my mind and out of my mouth. The other friend said then he surely must be a grower. (She has only seen the censored screening so really cannot judge)

At the National pre Follies tonight in the Lyttleton foyer. Saw the wonderful Celia Imrie so went gushing up to her and called Ms Imrie and she turned around to look at me. I blurted out "I love your work" to which she replied "Thankyou so much, you have made my evening." She then shook my hand and left me open mouthed. What a lovely lady.

Andrew Scott was at the Almeida yesterday. I saw him an hour before the matinee, he hovered around outside, then went to the toilet but I didn't seem him at all after that but I assume he watched Against. Poor thing.

Andrew Scott was at the Almeida yesterday. Darn, I was there but didn't spot him, but then I'm no good at that sort of thing.

Not recent sightings, but I sat behind Julie Walters at Wicked once (she seemed to love it) and next to Bon Jovi at Book of Mormon.

Pre Follies tonight I saw Summer Strallen, presumably the first time she'll have been able to see Zizi in it due to Young Frankenstein. When leaving the auditorium, also saw Gillian Wright.
