Years ago (I think it was the late 80s, it was the Kenneth Branagh Renaissance company Shakespeares in the West End) when I was a teenager, I sat next to an old lady who was all wrapped up in a shawl. My mum on the other side of me kept nudging me, but I had no idea what she was on about. Later on she told me I was sitting next to Rachel Kempson. I had no idea who she was at the time. She seemed to enjoy the play though.

Well i don't know if it counts seeing as he was the director of the show but last night Craig Revel Horwood sat in front of me at Sister Act. A recording of him telling people to switch their phones of comes on before the show and it starts with him introducing himself and saying that no, he's not in the auditorium, at which point he put his hand up and quietly said "yes i am" and laughed.

Lots of familiar faces during Chekhov press night, most memorably John Heffernan (who - I was pleased to know - was enjoying the journey!) and Bill Nighy (though he probably was there to see another show - Deep Blue Sea).

This wasn't at a musical, but when I saw Kate Bush around two years ago, Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz were there. I didn't see them myself, only from fan reports afterwards.
When I saw Curious Incident with my school, Matt Lucas was in the audience and a friend of mine bumped into him in the queue for the loo.

Meera Syal at Cursed Child yesterday. She must be a Harry Potter fan... took the first opportunity she could to see the show after finishing Romeo and Juliet!

One that I wont forget, I cant remember what I was seeing, or even the theatre now, but it was in the last three or so years. A group of people were forming near the front door but I had to get through to meet my friends. Walked through and ended up in a pathway created by security and was soon pushed back into the crowd... ... The Queen walked past me two minutes later. and more unbelievably, this is actually a true story! She was seeing the same show we were seeing!

I wonder if Ben Affleck went with his kids as he's mentioned in interviews that his daughter is a huge Harry Potter fan.

Amber Heard in the Royal Court bookshop.
It's a shame the title says famous people and not stars, or I could have said: the Perseids, outside Richmond Theatre.
