Have they transferred anything recently? Funny Girl was ages ago. Fiddler was their last transfer just before COVID, WITH Andy Nyman, and it ran for 8 months in the West End.

The Watsons was planned to transfer to the Harold Pinter but Covid scuppered it although that was originally a transfer from Chichester.

Color Purple and Merrily both transferred to Broadway and in the case of Color Purple, it made Cynthia Erivo a star

If you're on the TodayTix loyalty program you may have gotten a presale link. I only just saw the email now I've booked for the first preview at the very back just because that so happens to be the first day I'm free. Hopefully it doesn't get cancelled or something.

Menier prices are always too expensive - £40 cheapest ticket?
If the rumours are true it is transferring after, I will wait.

I'd hang fire on this one. There's bound to be discounts/rush during the quiet (dead) period after the Christmas festivites (Jan/Feb) especially at the prices they are charging. January is when I am looking to go so will look again if it gets cheaper.

On a YouTube channel called Clifbob there’s a 90 minute documentary about the making of the OBC. It’s called The Making of The Producers Album. Very entertaining, and highlights how good the songs are.
I hope the MCF celebrate this show and do it as originally written. It would be a travesty if they tried to take anything that might possibly offend out of it. It needs to be played up, not down.

Very entertaining, and highlights how good the songs are. It really is a superb doc and highlights how dynamite that original cast are (especially Gary Beach who was an absolute delight)

I said Trevor Ashley would be perfect for Roger months ago… And people scoffed. He will be brilliant… And he will win the Olivier award when this transfers to the West End.

I certainly didn't scoff at you, I just said Trevor's performances were always massive (which they are) and I wasn't sure whether they'll be able to bring it down (which I'm still not) As for Oliviers, it's September and we've seen less than zero of whatever performance he's going to give - there is absolutely no lock on him being nominated OR winning an Olivier yet...

Also, it's a little premature to say it will transfer to the West End when performances don't start for another month and a bit. It could be an absolute stinker for all we know.

They already have a West End theatre for the transfer and supposedly it's going to transfer right away from what I hear.

I only say he will win the Olivier because Gary Beach won the Tony and and Conleth Hill won the Olivier for playing the same role. It's an award "getting" role if done right.

Absolutely love The Producers and saw it twice in 2005, once in the West End and also in Buenos Aires in Spanish!!
Only recently realized though how close some of the numbers (and the plot) are to Kiss Me Kate?? "Opening Night" is practically a retread of "Another Openin' Another Show". Naughty.
Will this be a big production?

I suspect it will be big in ambition. I find at the MCF that the set design is only fully realised once it transfers

Really pleased for them. Getting back on their feet again as The Cabinet Minister also sold out. Can't believe this will be the first time I've ever seen the musical.
