I'm a regular theatre Lone Ranger! It's the only way to see all the shows that I do. And means can book much further in advance without having to plan with friends etc! Legally blonde 3 times and counting! And 2 of those were on my Todd.
Although I would very much enjoy finding a theatre loving female to share with!

Have to say I'm very tempted by this - even though it does sound like everything I hate. Plus, I imagine a man on his own at this sort of show would be a bit sad! Any chance this production will tour? Thanks WickedGrin Planning on doing a mini theatre tour on my week off. Starting off in Bristol to see Long Day's Journey Into Night. Then going to travel from Bristol to Leicester to catch the Wedneday matinee of Legally Blonde. I then plan to go from Leicester to Birmingham Hippodrome to see Mary Poppins. Then a small journey down to Stratford Upon Avon to see Hamlet on the Thursday. Starts at 13:15 and finishes about 16:30, might see if I can catch something Thursday evening in the West End. Now with Legally Blonde starting at 14:15, so will finish at 16:45, will I have time to make it to Birmingham for Mary Poppins for 19:30.

Haven't been to Leicester before, but judging by Google Maps, it seems to be a 10min walk from the Curve to the train station. You should easily catch the 5.18pm service to Birmingham New Street arriving there at 6.14pm. From New Street, it's less than 15min to the Hippodrome, so it's definitely possible. And even if you missed this train, the next one leaves exactly 30min later and gets you to Brum at 6.44pm, so that's still 46min to curtain up.

You can get from your train at New Street to your seat at the Hippodrome in 10 minutes, so I'd think you'll have plenty of time

Apparently Elaine Paige just said on her show there will be some big Legally Blonde news next week...

Yeah, I heard that - though I wonder whether she'll just be announcing the Curve Leicester production as her "news" on EPOS is sometimes not very up-to-date!!

Maybe they'll announce that the Leicester production will subsequently go on tour?

I'm sure this is planning to tour. I can't remember where/who told me but I'm sure I wasn't daydreaming!

Tour seems most likely as it's been rumoured for ages if I'm not mistaken.

A rather cringeworthy tv advert has surfaced for this. We don't often get theatre adverts in the midlands, so I'm wondering if this isn't selling that well - I'm going in a couple of weeks because my sister is a Curve member and they occasionally send out £5 tickets to certain shows. Also, it appears that Curve aren't employing the orchestra pit for Legally Blonde, so hopes of a full orchestra are slim as the backstage/studio space is being used for another play.

Curve musicals rarely have a pit. The only one I've known was Oliver at Christmas. Usually the band are elsewhere.

Yes, I've seen them remove the dividing wall to the studio and have the orchestra there at the back before which is quite effective as it opens up the whole space, but obviously can't be done too often. The pit was also used for Finding Neverland, but that wasn't a Curve production. It's a shame they don't use it more often.

Hmm. This looks... odd. Anyway, Friday next week and I'm so looking forward to seeing the show again. It's been a while (2nd January, to be precise )

think they used the pit for hello dolly as well? Didn't Hello Dolly have the band visible at the back of the stage? That's what I seem to remember.

Just gotten an eMail that tomorrow's public dress rehearsal has been turned into a closed rehearsal. Wonder what's going on.
From the mail:
Anyone on here seeing this during its first week?

A dress rehearsal is a rehearsal with an audience so there must be something wrong with the show for them to not want any audience there. How strange?
