Agreed. I don't do fan crazy easily but I booked for what I presume will be their last shows on 28 July. Even if the show gets extended, I can't see them staying with it longer.

Yea, I figure Saturday evening should be on the safe side though for the first cast?
My guess is that the alternates will do the matinees since it must be tough to scream your way through that score twice a day.
Edit: I'm basing this entirely on the fact that I was hoarse for two days after singing along in the car for an whole hour. Ahem.

Glad to see Andrew and Christina have returned especially. Was annoyed to miss this last year so at least I'll get to see it (hopefully) with them this time around.

I would think Friday night and Sat night are safe bets...I wonder if there will be a set schedule? Same with the alternate Tina Turner at The Aldwych?

I have just seen an interview with Andrew Polec in which he points out that Jim Steinman's music captures the true essence of rock and roll music.
Bless him! He is absolutely right although he is referring to an era in the mid-1950s long before he was born.
On the other hand, I was there when it happened and, in my late teens, I witnessed the cataclysmic effect that the arrival of rock had on the music scene and on what was known as 'popular' music at the time. Steinman somehow seems to get this feeling of early rock exactly right and at the same time he has created an outstandingly good musical score that fits the book perfectly as a proper stage musical.
Just thought I would get in with one of my reminiscences before the show actually opens and everybody starts saying the same thing, or so I hope...!

Is it too early to start getting excited for this again? Looking forward to seeing some new faces alongside the leads, and new alternate Strats. The cast recording has grown on me slowly but surely so now I’m well up for it again!

I've been excited since it was announced (with venue and on sale dates) seeing as I missed out on seeing it last time round.

I hold the ‘Grease’ era Dominion responsible for ginormo drinks and popcorn being allowed into auditoriums.

I only became what I class as a regular theatregoer a couple of years ago, so I've only ever visited the Dominion twice before. Luckily don't have any associations with it (good or bad). I've got around two months still to go before I see the show, hoping it doesn't disappoint when I finally get to see it

Not too early at all - I've been excited since the last night in August when they announced it was coming back. Really looking forward to seeing some new faces, and hopefully getting to see a couple of the understudies I missed last time. Glad Simon Gorton is back as alt Strat too - I saw one of the shows he did in London as a preparation for Toronto and loved his voice.

Striking new full-page advert in the Review section in today's Telegraph with great pics of the principals. For technical reasons I am unable to get the image onto this website but it says:
A NIGHT THAT WILL MAKE YOUR JAW DROP AND YOUR HEART SOAR
and that's just what the advert did to me! I can't wait to get to see the show again next month.

It is a fantastic ad, and I don’t mind admitting that a little bit of wee comes out every time I see it. It captures the spirit of the show so much better than the daft bike one.

It's been mentioned in the international thread. Casting note says "German-language production" so either the full thing will get translated, making Meat Loaf's immortal hits unrecognizable or it'll be a mess of German dialogue and English songs. Either way I'll stick with London, tyvm *clutches tickets to heart

Just been sent a link for Bat Out of Hell in Minnesota for 2 weeks in June 2019. Was it common knowledge that they're (presumably) doing a US tour?

I tried to buy tickets from the official website but it seems impossible, has anyone else had the same problem?

Not sure if it’s already been mentioned, but just spotted that TodayTix will be doing £25 rush tickets for this

Thanks jamb0r for the TodayTix tip-off. I have a question for those who have seen the show before: I saw the show too many times to mention last year, and want to know if those who know it well think it'd be okay for children (7 & 9). My gut feel is that the length and adult themes might be too much, though they love the soundtrack. Apart from the car scene (which is funny), I don't remember anything particularly strong. I'm not bothered about the occasional swearing. I think the staging is epic enough to engage them. Any thoughts? (Thanks!)

I think this particular topic was discussed a while ago already?
Depends on how "mature" the kids are, in my opinion, and if they have already seen the more kid-friendly things in the West End like the Disney musicals and Matilda. I wouldn't be worried about the swearing (they hear worse on the street every day) or the nudity (there's way more flesh on display on the streets on a hot summer day), but personally I wonder if kids wouldn't be bored by the theme itself, since it's all basically just grown-ups banging on about luuurve? I'm all for introducing kids to decent rock music early before they fall prey to the manufactured trash that's churned out today, but I think +10 may be a better age.
