A couple of the characters take their shirts off and during one number, they strip down to their underwear. I genuinely had no idea @ryan wielded that much power in London's glittering West End!!!  |

I'm sure Ryan looked away at the point of the taking off of clothes. There is absolutely no need for gratuitous semi nudity in this day and age!! Well a bit here and there never did any harm.

I really enjoy that most of the sexuality and lust comes from the parents, the two common themes through Steinman's work are not wanting to grow up and resentment at getting old, so watching two middle-aged people reminisce being 17 and having intense meaningless sex is just the pinnacle of his work  |

I wonder how the megachurch Hillsongs that uses the Dominion on Sundays for their services feel about the word HELL shinning bright over the top of their "church"... and how much of the "edgy" set will be visible during their services.

I heard that they’d convinced Hillsong that it was a modern representation of Mount Arrarat and they’ve swapped the flying bats out for doves. |

I had a drive today, so enjoyed listening to the cast recording, I am familiar with Steinman/Meat Loaf through both Bat 🦇 Out Of Hell Albums, I think I bought the second one they say it came out, on cassette. Listening you can understand why this is popular and and I can see Bat Out of Hell doing steady business at the Dominion, is because Steinman’s score is breathtaking and is inherently musical, especially the closing song ‘I do anything for love, but I won’t do That’, with the excellent duet at the end.
What I am not familiar with is the song and it’s a brilliant song ‘What Part of my Body Hurts The Most’, was this written specially for this musical?

It’s hard to say what any Steinman song was “written for” because he’s been working on this show pretty much all his life, but the song was premiered back in 2006 as part of his Dream Engine project. This is the first official release though. |

It was vaguely implied when Bat opened that the song was written for the show but actually it's been knocking around for about 10 years. Meat Loaf has never sung it though so it's new in that regard. |

And living 200miles away from London, I'm not going to make a trip specifically to HMV Oxford St to purchase it.

Maybe it’s the rights issue that was mooted when it was first discussed or some other reason we will never know. Either way, despite not capturing the feel of the show particularly well, it is worth £25 for Polec’s BOOH alone. |

I'm presumably the target audience remark alluded to and I bought vinyl and cassettes way back in the 80s, then moved to CDs in the 90s (still annoyed that I have some older cast recordings on vinyl only). Despite being an ancient crone now, I'm totally down with the kids (yea, right) and stream music on Spotify every day. Once in a while I buy the digital release of an album when I feel like supporting a young new artist whose music I discovered and enjoyed on Spotify. When it comes to musicals though, I still buy the CD to add to the collection. Maybe it's stupid but for me it's a different kind of owning something and feels more special, also for the reasons the Monkey mentions. That aside, I appreciate CDs (like this one) with a good booklet containing the lyrics and everything. It made me painfully aware of how much nonsense I used to sing when singing along with Bat out of Hell. |

To be clear, I'm in no way dissing the physical release. I do still buy CDs where possible. I tend to stream an album via Spotify etc. and if I enjoy it I'll either get the full thing on iTunes or get the CD. I love flicking through the booklet to gain more information and actually experiencing the product.
I just think its strange that a physical CD would get released, rather silently, without too much promotion and without a concurrent digital release. Surely, especially with an artist like Meatloaf attached to it, I find it strange they've not pushed for a big phyical-digital release and shouted about it.

To me, the fact you can buy it in HMV Oxford Street doesn't scream "definitely released in the UK!". I've definitely bought imports there in the past, and I don't find it beyond the realms of possibility that they still might import stuff in if they think it's going to sell. Sure, we in the UK can buy this CD, but it doesn't automatically follow that it's been formally released in the UK yet.

I'm more annoyed that they still haven't announced whether the original leads are returning. I assume they are hoping to do one big press release to announce the cast (with or without new names), the CD release (physical and digital) in the UK and generally push ticket sales a bit closer to the opening date. |

The £15 back of stalls seats and the front three rows now look to be back on sale for all dates, I checked this morning out of curiosity. No idea why they were taken off sale but they're back now.

I can't see them on any date I try The £15 back of stalls seats? They're available for most Mon-Thurs performances from May onwards, at least they were on the dates I checked. As for the front three rows there seems to still be availability for most performances |

Great news is that Andrew Polec, Christina Bennington, Rob Fowler and Sharon Sexton are all returning. They were a perfect leading cast so am thrilled about this. Roll on April!
