Not sure if it’s already been mentioned, but just spotted that TodayTix will be doing £25 rush tickets for this Ooh exciting! Does anyone know where in the theatre the rush tickets will be? @theatremonkey ? I presume they will probably just be box office discretion - when I got a rush ticket for An American in Paris in the same venue I was in row E of the circle.

Depends on the kid. I'd take my sister's 9 year old, 'cos I know they already watch all the Marvel movies (except Deadpool) together, and although the content is obviously different, I feel like the age appropriateness is probably about the same. With regards to potential adult content, they either get it already in which case it's too late to worry, or it'll go flying over their heads. With regards to plot, WHAT plot?

I think that, unless you batter them with the music 24/7, they would be pretty bored; especially in act two when it is solid ballad for about 25 mins! Yes the set is impressive but that wow would last two minutes for a child. Spend the money on a babysitter and just go and enjoy yourself 😂
NB- I have been pre-programming my 15 year old son since it closed, and fully intend to drag him along next week!

I'd say 10 at the minimum for this one, it is boring and adult for younger ones. On the rush seats, "box office discretion" - front row is on sale, so it won't be that for sure. I am wondering, though what they will do with the front corner seats. Off sale at both sides at the moment, and we know they were restricted in previous runs... Dominiontheatre.com, the official website, is working to book tickets on at the moment. Rush for American in Paris always seemed to be rear stalls when I checked so may be the same here if they have the same arrangement with Todaytix. Most likely "whatever's left"

Most likely "whatever's left" Whatever's left leaves quite a lot of choice for the few performances I looked at. Wondering if Dominion will off day seats themselves. Did they for AiP? I never saw that show so never paid attention. I'm planning on coming next Thursday.

Not long to go until opening now!
I’ve been holding off on booking tickets as I’m hoping for a day seat announcement! Has anyone heard any whispers?

As mentioned earlier in the thread, todaytix rush £25. Don’t know how I managed to miss that! Thank you 🙂 Having never used TodayTix before can anyone explain the process for me? I was all prepared for an early start for day seats

I was all prepared for an early start for day seats For popular shows as soon as it turns 10am, you have to load the page up and add the tickets to your basket. Sometimes if there is a lot of tickets available (like for 42d street) they remain available up until 2 hours before the show.

I was under the impression that this would be a huge sell-out hit from the start of the run, but there is loads of availibilty over the first few weeks having a quick glance. The weekends are busy, but the weekdays not so much.

Same as last time really. With a theatre that big it will make a killing at the weekend from tourists pulled in by the name recognition.

And we still don't know if they are planning an open ended run or just the 4 months currently on sale - I really hope the former....

I'm sure they're hoping the same I don't know how often I've heard "If WWRY could fill that barn for more than ten years..." IIRC it was a bit of a slow burner in Manchester and London last year, too, with word of mouth spreading slowly how much fun it was. And I'm sure it'll get lots of walk-in trade from tourists. We'll see. I do hope it'll run for a few years, even if it'll be hell on my bank account.

I have yet to see it but I have heard very mixed things so on the one hand I am intriuged, on the other hand it sounds like fresh hell. Also, I only know one Meatloaf song and I can't take someone seriously whos name is Meatloaf. 😂😂

The initially announced runs pretty much sold out, but the extensions there was lots of availability, in Manchester particularly!

They were literally giving tickets away for opening night at Manchester Opera House so they could get the 'House full' signs out.

interesting... but apparently the numbers must have added up somehow, or they wouldn't have come back for another run in London? When I saw it in Manchester, the place was pretty much full.

Going by when I watched it in Manchester, alcohol sales at the theatre should go through the roof!

It's already papering early dates...whilst not uncommon for new shows, it's never a massively positive thing to be doing.

Also, I only know one Meatloaf song and I can't take someone seriously whos name is Meatloaf. 😂😂 It's Meat Loaf. He hates it when people smoosh it into one word. Also he's really called Marvin (or was, he appears to have changed it to Michael at some point?).

I have to see it to comment on the fact it hasn't sold as well as I would of initally thought? Or that it was discounting toward the end of its London run? I thought this was fact, not my opinion of the show or anyone associated with the show?

I think we may be seeing a different crowd for this one - the type who decide a few days ahead to see something. That will possibly fill it. The producers were obviously happy with how it performed previously or they wouldn’t be coming back. It extended in Manc to benefit from another weekend, when it did sell rather than the quieter week days. It seems to be following the same discounting model as last time. Better a full theatre at £25 per head and a load of bar/merch sales, than an empty one and your pride (for want of a better word) intact. As per, people are ready to do something down before it opens which really gets my Dillamond. (Just realised that this isn’t a reply to you Monkey, just a general comment. 🐵)

Just logged onto TodayTix to look at rush tickets, looks like the seats offered will be similar to those offered for American in Paris. I was offered row S of stalls (haven't purchased it as I'm not in London today, just looking out of interest).
