Hell - I'm just super impressed that Hulmeman found out about La Cage by trawling around the Samuel French website! My friends think I'm overenthusiastic about theatre, but that research is on a whole different level!

And I had it from a friend of a friend who works at the REX that it was Gypsy for Christmas. I wonder if something went wrong?
Either way, La Cage is something to look forward to.

The daughter decides she’s getting married and the father doesn’t approve. Then it’s a battle of wills as to who gets their way. Its a lot of fun and the new adaptation sounds like it could really work well. |

Slap my legs with a bale of crimson chiffon if this has been posted already but I just noticed on the Samuel French website they've licenced a production of "La Cage Aux Folles" at the Royal Exchange Manchester 28/11/2019 - 30/01/2020. www.samuelfrench.co.uk/p/2749/la-cage-aux-follesSo open your eyes, Christmas looks a whole lot brighter. The dates are incorrect. Correct dates are 28/11/20 to 30/1/21. Next year. So this year it could be Gypsy as per BB |

I've only seen Gypsy once a few years ago when it was at the Savoy, but it's only supposed to be a bit suggestive surely. How do you stage Let Me Entertain You in the round without giving at least half the audience an eyeful?

Second year running for an unappealing sounding Christmas musical. I like the sound of it. I'm not sure if I'd travel up for like I'm planning for Passion at Hope Mill but interesting none the less. |

That’s more like it! I used get a season ticket, but didn’t book a single thing last time. I’ve seen most of the plays already, so will probably wait to see who’s cast, especially since it looks like they’ve stopped the season tickets.
Very intrigued by Betty. The fuller synopsis on the website says Maxine Peak and Seiriol Davies are starring in it as well as writing it. Sounds very Play That Goes Wrong.

I hope they will return to a more mainstream musical like they have in years past. We did enjoy Betty though even without Maxine in it. Surely a more well known show will put more bums on seats and it won't really need a star name. I'm sure La Cage aux Folles was being lined up for the Christmas after Covid broke
