Shira Haas, breathtaking in 'Unorthodox', could almost persuade me.

Do we think discounted tix will be available for this? Now I've seen this cast announcement I am more interested, but tickets still expensive and from what I can see, it has not sold that well thus far. I know Sheridan pulls in the crowds but....

I’ll be seeing this because I think Sheridan is great. As long as she’s not in a glass box with a Go-Pro strapped to her head I’ll be happy.

Have high hopes for this show especially the composer coming to West End.

Looking at tickets towards the end of March, but does anyone know what's happening with the front two rows/boxes in the stalls, as they don't appear to be able to book on any date, presuming they haven't been put on sale? Or if there might be a ticket lottery of some kind

I also see Jos Slovick is in this. Last time I saw him was in Soho Cinders a few years ago and thought he was excellent.

Or if there might be a ticket lottery of some kind I just booked this, particularly excited to see Benjamin Walker. The front two rows now seem to be available, not sure when that happened but there's still a fair bit of availability for them even on the very well sold dates so I suspect recently. I guess they were holding them back until they knew how the physical production was shaping up.

Just a shame that we already booked more expensive tickets in the dress circle, would have waited but expected they would never be open to purchase

Today Tix have offers for this for weekday shows and seems to be some good seats for £35 of which I have opted for. I wonder if there will be other offers or not as I would have thought with Smith involved it wouldn't need them once it's open.

Also a clip of her singing one of the songs. Thought she came over really well, but then, she always does.

Surprised how little buzz there is for this considering what a huge hit Shirley Valentine was. Looks to have sold pretty badly so far.

Everyone knows Shirley Valentine so she had a head start there. This musical is a brand new musical and most people won't have heard of Rufus Wainwright. It's going to be a harder sell so a lot will depend on reviews and word of mouth.

Coming over primarily for Romeo and Juliet this summer, but will be seeing a dozen shows and this is probably the second I'm most looking forward to. Will eagerly anticipating first reviews for this, and also any thoughts on booking front row for this production.

I'm surprised to read the above. I thought at this stage Sheridan Smith was a guaranteed ticket-seller in the West End.

Hello, everyone. I'm new to the forum - we visit London once a year from San Francisco and usually see a few plays/musicals. I'm very much looking forward to seeing this. I'm a huge fan of Rufus Wainwright and we saw Shirley Valentine last year and thought Sheridan Smith was excellent. There have been several articles about Opening Night recently. The best of them is from British Vogue: www.vogue.co.uk/article/sheridan-smith-interview An interesting quote from the article: "...set to become the hottest ticket in the West End..." I don't know about that, but I couldn't pass it up.

I went to see Rufus Wainwright at the weekend and hearing him talk about the show (among the incredible array of things he’s written / is writing!) was exciting. I’m curious what it’ll be like hearing somebody else sing songs he’s written. I adore his songwriting but also paired with his voice. He was talking about the fact he was sent a video of Sheridan in Funny Girl ahead of casting and his reaction was “meh, it’s ok”… but how he’s gone on to find her a revelation to work with and that maybe his reaction was more about the show than her. Anyway I’m super excited for the show.

The only thing that's holding me off booking this is the prices and Rufus Wainwright. Can't stand his voice or his music, so depends how much the score sounds like his typical "fayre".
The rest of it, I'm sold on. Ticket prices in the West End are too expensive to take punts on now, sorry!
I want guaranteed enjoyment, and I suspect a lot of people are in a similar position/mindset to me.
