So, a musical version of one of any number of channel 5 9pm ‘on every night this week’ dramas, that plague our very existence? Great. I’m normally dribbling on the sofa by half nine, so not for me ta. It's a classic John Cassavetes film from the 70's, you PHILISTINE!!

So it looks like this will be going either to the Gielgud after Old Friends, or the Noel Coward after The Motive and the Cue.

I thought he made sleepy art films and conspiracy thrillers? Shaming people for not having the same cultural reference points as you isn’t really the one.

First post here says it’s opening early next year. “Old Friends” closes first week January and “Motive” not until March so if that holds true, it’s probably the Gielgud.

Shaming people for not having the same cultural reference points as you isn’t really the one. I was joking, promise. I've indulged in my fair share of Channel 5. If Sheridan was doing 'Pam Ayres does the Cotswolds: the Musical', I'd be very impressed.

IT says on sale at 10am but it appears to be on sale NOW
ETA: And they just enabled the queue but tickets were on sale for a good while this morning. Booked for 19 March. £20-£165 range. Did not appear to be any difference in preview prices. Press night looks to be March 26th, only date not on sale.

You benefitted from their screw up there. You now cannot book until 10am today and there’s a countdown in place.

There's been a DMT+ presale since 8am or so this morning. Although sounds like it was open for booking regardless.

Booked for the second night of previews as someone had nabbed the front dress circle seat I was after for the very first performance! (I was still considering it when the briefly-open early booking period ended).
Intrigued about this one - Sheridan is marmite I know but I thought she was great in both Funny Girl and Shirley. Had a read on IMDb about the film this is based upon and it sounds good. Also sounds like there could be elements of life imitating art (or art imitating life) but we shall see.

Booked for a Matinee in March and was impressed how smooth it was to book!
Seen Sheridan in a few things before so interested to see this with Rufus Wainwright and Ivo van Hove involved as well.
Currently booking till 27TH JULY 2024 it says on the DMT website.

Big fan of the film, worried this might be bad but I’ve booked anyway.

The film is 144 minutes so I imagine this won't be a 90 minutes no interval type show.

All booked for 3rd preview in my usual (and favourite) seats. This has been a very well kept secret hasn't it. Even the box office guy said he didn't know about it until he came into work this morning.

Easy booking process. Compared to other shows pleasantly surprised by the ticket prices! Agreed. I suspect Sheridan Smith's involvement will ensure this is another Educating Rita and not one to wait for discounts. DMT makes it very quick and easy to scroll through dates and choose seats compared to the likes of ATG.

It's because I have access issues and it's all on the level so no stairs but it's a great view roo.

Fairly easy pass for me. I like Smith and Van Hove (though he’s very hit-and-miss), but I’ve never heard of the film, and don’t know what Rufus Wainwright’s like as a songwriter because I can’t stand his voice.
