What is the best way to get a good seat at a good price? On the day, in advance? Anyone have a tricks? I would love to see this! There’s some posts further up this thread reporting having found reduced priced seats (good stalls or dress circle) on TKTS in the past week or two. Check at midnight for next (that!) day and throughout the day.

If you are a member, you can sometimes unearth "member special" prices - I managed to get great tickets for 2/3 of the list price this way.

What is the best way to get a good seat at a good price? On the day, in advance? Anyone have a tricks? I would love to see this! Been keeping an eye on the tickets in case it did seem to get the ticket rush and needed to grab a ticket but happy now to review the lowering of seat prices atg are doing as the performance comes closer, and they are amending prices further ahead now As saw the mid November shows i am looking to go to have started to change down. Tkts has been having great seats avaliable for all Mon to Thurs shows but now seem to be 80.50 and 50.50 instead of 70.50/50.50. But these are often seats which were were 245/195/125 at full price. tkts also seem to have tickets avaliable until mid afternoon. The Friday and Saturday shows seem to be selling out on their own And less likely to get reductions. It does seem to sell out most nights before showtime. They are being fairly quiet about any reductions but seem keen to sell out each show presumably to help any possible broadway transfer use the tag line of a sellout westend show . I expect the final weeks will get more of a buzz and will sell out without any reductions but at present considering the raves it's got its surprisingly easy to get great tickets on the day and often at massive reductions.

As what?

Will write my review tomorrow when my brain is more alert, as a wonderful exhilarating evening of theatre was soon firebombed by being delayed getting home by 2.5 hours, due to a fatality on the line - no trains out of Euston.
And then had to start a new job today.
Suffice to say, I did love it but it didn't work 100% for me. So it's a 4 or maybe 4.5 out of 5.
The biggest surprise for me, as someone who knows the score inside out and back to front was just how many new lyrics there were - about a third of the libretto I'd estimate. I assume Black and Hampton rewrote them at Jamie Lloyd's behest?
I missed having a staircase - call me old fashioned! - but I think if they should have retained any Sunset iconography, it should have been that.
Loved the camerawork, loved the performances, loved the "house style" of it - it was exciting and beguiling.

I don't think this is a spoiler, because a lot of curtain call footage has been widely shared, BUT a question - (proceed with caution if you haven't seen the final scene) ..... {Spoiler - click to view}
Why do we think she is smothered in blood at the end? Why does she smear it around her neck? Is it her "madness". She has definitely shot Joe in this version hasn't she? Or something else? Has she been rolling around on him after he's bled to death?!

I haven’t seen the show yet (I see it in December), but my interpretation is that she shoots Joe at close range and, therefore, gets spattered with his blood herself. Not sure if that’s correct.

It’s because she kisses him offscreen is it not? She acts out her script of Salome at the end. From earlier:
They bring in his head on a silver tray She kisses his mouth It's a great screenplay

There are flashing lights and loud music and in between the sound of Joe screaming like he’s being tortured, and the sound of Norma grunting etc. This coupled with the blood all over her face and mouth points to something like she tortured/attacked/bit him or something? It’s not clear at all but it’s reminiscent of a Gloucester blinding scene from King Lear.

That was my other theory - that she's re-enacted Salome - not quite literally - (no decapitation!)

So she stabs him instead of shooting him?

Well she can’t be that big a fan, seeing as she doesn’t know that “Miss Saigon” was actually Gigi, not Kim.

I can't remember 30 mins ago but I thought there were gunshots. You also see a gun on her dressing room table when Tom is singing Sunset Boulevard

There’s definitely gunshots but I assumed she shot him then kissed him as she describes in Salome.

Yes, but I thought that was just an Easter egg nodd to the film and previous productions - along with the chimp!

See I interpreted it as the noise of the lights switching on. It’s less gun shotty and more like a massive pull switch that would turn on electrics.

I caved and got a ticket for £97.50. Got centre of Row K in the Stalls so hoping the view (and the show) is worth the cost!
