She was doing stage door early on (not that I do it myself - I don't agree with it) but I think the sheer number of people clutching merchandise with black sharpies at the ready is possibly part of it. Some of the cast tend to come out - I usually see them whilst having a pint at the pub. Each to their own but I find stage dooring a bit of an odd activity. We came out after having a night cap in the lounge and as we were exiting, Tom came out and we had a quick chat. Super friendly and accommodating with selfies and signatures.

I acknowledge many people on here love it. But I really don't get it. For me I like the degree of separation; I like actors remaining these ethereal other worldly beings! (Though sadly social media has more or less got rid of that illusion!) Also the old adage of never meet your idols..... And of course with the fan girl shows we've seen a lot of problems and blurred lines and boundaries with stage dooring in the last decade or so.

If anyone wants to order this before it inevitably sells out there’s a code for free shipping which saves £4.99. Expires 3rd November. Code : FREESHIPPING Because you don’t really want to sit with it in your sweaty hands all night and then drag it all the way home on the tube and have it looking like a dishrag by the time you get there do you…

Promise not to derail the thread but I have also never done stage door although I often wish I had. But I just want to get home after a show and don't want all the pushing and shoving and I've be very unhappy if I was missed out. Several years ago I was working on "Westend Recast" at the Pheonix Theatre (some of you may remember the evening). Anyway lots of west end performers in the show so,as you can imagine, a big crowd waiting at stage door. But that's also the exit for the rest of us. I can still remember opening the door to leave and seeing the disappointed looks on people's faces as I came out and they realised I wasn't anyone. I've never forgotten their poor faces and my total embarrassment.

Just have to hope that it actually works this time unlike when they originally released the code. Got stung by that shipping fee just to make sure I got one before it sells out, as all the Sunset Blvd merchandise seems to be selling out every so often. Even the theatre was out of quite a few pieces of it last week.

Yes, it's in the basket screen and appeared on mine (saying "free shipping will be applied on checkout"). It didn't deduct it though. I've messaged them for a refund on the £4.99 - will let you know how I get on. Am sure it's a system glitch as the screen clearly confirmed the code had worked.

I can’t find anywhere to put the code. I've put a screenshot in the spoiler to show where the put the code on the desktop version of the site. Can also do it on the checkout page if you click the "Have a coupon? Click here to enter your code" bit at the top. {Spoiler} Yes, it's in the basket screen and appeared on mine (saying "free shipping will be applied on checkout"). It didn't deduct it though. Does appear that the code is once again broken, as it's showing the code as valid but isn't discounting the £4.99 for me either.

Yes, thanks. But I, like you, had no luck with it actually taking it off the subtotal.

Sorry folks if I misled you about the code. I got this email earlier so assumed it was safe to share.

Is the code still broken for everyone else? Yep 😞 I’ve sent them a message via the contact form on their site so hopefully they’ll fix it and get back to me. I think it’s unlikely the Savoy will still have stock of these when I go on closing night, and I’m assuming they won’t let me pop in to buy one when I’m passing given the merch is down all those stairs miles from the main entrance! So fingers crossed I can order one from here.

Saw Andrew LW in the dress circle bar this evening. I had to nip out just before the interval as I was bursting for the loo, and he was there trying to get in discreetly for the end of the first half. Told him it's a great show to which he said "thank you very much, I'm glad you're enjoying it".
Wish I'd had my sharpie and programme to hand...

Wished you could have asked him when/if they're doing a cast recording of this. I sent a message to Jamie Lloyd's company hoping to get some good news

Oh, forgot to add, my programme which was included in a drink/ice-cream deal was STOLEN by some two-bob tealeaf at the interval. People really have no shame. All to save eight quid...

Has anyone had any luck getting tickets on the day from the box office? I hadn’t realised that the lottery was only open Mondays - Wednesdays, and we’re heading up to London on Saturday and would love to see this.

Alternatively try TKTS online from midnight or 9.00am. Also look at ATG+ if you are a member as I recently bought two "member special" tickets for December at 1/3 reduction. They appeared when I refreshed my screen, so log in, find your date then refresh. It might trigger great seats at a great price.

Am I alone in thinking this production is overwrought, over-indulgent and frequently incomprehensible to anyone unfamiliar to the original narrative. And as for that tour round the Strand at beginning of Act 2 - all very clever but WHY??

And as for that tour round the Strand at beginning of Act 2 - all very clever but WHY?? The two ladies I spoke with during the interval didn't know the plot going in. When I asked them what they thought, they said they had no clue what was happening but they were enjoying it lol.

It is unashamedly style over substance, anchored by the magnificent orchestra & fabulous voices. I certainly wouldn’t recommend it as someones first musical 🤣
