Wonder if we'll get another single for one of Scherzy's songs. Seems like a miss for her to not have a song out. My hope is that they do a new version of "The Perfect Year" and release it in time for the Christmas Season. That never really charted here in the US (with the Glenn Close "pop version") and there's really not a lot of New Years songs. Would be a great tie in for the show, for Nicole and the season

Well as someone who was wildly jealous reading these pages a year ago, (and was wildly trying to plan a 2 day trip to UK and back just to see this) I'm so super stoked today. Listened to the track at least 5 times (and watched the video 3 times) - and ceebee you're so spot on. I'm amazed at the quality of this "live recording" - it sounds so perfect - and between the orchestrations, the delivery it sounds so crisp and fresh. Hard to believe I've been listening to this score for over 30 years now and have never tired of it - but now for it to sound like something brand new. October 12th can't come soon enough to see this (for the first time) I’m excited FOR you chernjam! How ever it lives up to your hopes and expectations we are here to hear it.

Just listened to the SB single and I wish I could see the show once again. What a voice, Tom Francis is.

I'm not! I am an Admin on a Sunset Boulevard fans facebook group (been running for 4 years - by all means join!) and although most people are supportive of the Jamie Lloyd version, there are a number of group members who are seemingly incensed that a production has been allowed to happen that strays so far from the Trevor Nunn original production they seem to worship. (and of course many of these people have not even SEEN the Lloyd production!) It's all very tribal for some people isn't it - like if you like one you have to hate the other. I absolutely adored the original Sunset. The Napier sets and the Nunn staging were absolutely at the peak of mega musical. And Nunn's Normas LuPone/Buckley/Paige gave some of the most thrilling performances I have ever seen on a West End stage (as did Kevin Anderson). But nothing about loving the new version takes away from those memories and that amazing experience for me. It still sits unaltered in my "memory of a happy moment" memory bank. Which is indeed what that one day now is. And the Lloyd version is easily the most exhilarating thing I have seen in years. Society pushes us to take sides these days. (Whispers it - I like Kate AND Meghan lol) I just keep reiterating: that was a different era!! Not just in terms of the production budgets back then - astronomical, and in Sunset's case, caused it's downfall. But also you are comparing the creative aesthetic of directors, choreographers, designers who are now at least 70+ with the likes of Jamie Lloyd and his contemporaries, most of whom are barely into their 40's, The difference in how theatre is going to be interpreted is bound to be different after 30 years!!! But some people just can't get past "the good old days". I have my moments with this, I'll admit, but not where it comes to theatre - an ever evolving beast!

Good vid but I’d liked to have just seen the entire sequence as we saw it at the theatre. There were some laugh out loud moments as he made his way past the dressing rooms with Nicole in the turban, the monkey, the ALW cut out, Max’s Pussycat dolls pic… I loved it. True, but remember those bits were in the Entr'acte, not the title song. They would have needed to release a "two numbers" video

I had to have a ‘real talk’ convo with the Mrs last night in which I pointed out that there was no way on earth that we would be visiting NYC in October without seeing this again. My heart had dropped previously when she’d said she ‘wasn’t bothered’ about doing so.If it means that I have to visit every museum and stand on every viewing platform in the East Coast Tri-State area, so be it!

After listening to the 2 released songs I am dying for the whole cast recording. I just wanted to hear what comes next (which is also why I hate shuffle mode with my music collection as it is 95% musicals!) I also want to hear the entre-act into Sunset Boulevard so the memories come flooding back

It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when for Norma's close-up.

I like it very much how her voice sounds in this!
I assume it's from the upcoming recording, so I may as well post it here:

Jesse Green has famously hated ALW shows for over 30 years, so this was entirely unsurprising - he thinks it's hilarious he doesn't like anything ALW so this was always going to be what happened.
Weird considering the NYT review of the London production was (I think) a rave...

Weird considering the NYT review of the London production was (I think) a rave... The London reviews are posted by a completely different critic, who is based in London. Sometimes, like last year's Harmony, the same production gets different reactions from two different American critics as well.
