Have received two parcel deliveries today - as I've not ordered anything I'mm assuming that they are birthday gifts from friends so keeping them aside. Just so lovely that with all that's going on they've taken the time and trouble to care and send them

Had very little in refunds as mainly credit vouchers, rescheduled dates or waiting for rescheduled dates. What I have had has gone towards paying the extra bills that are usually covered by overtime so that I keep my head above water and don't incur extra debt

So sad, he was so good in BB and his absence was always noticeable on the occasions that I saw the show with anyone else in the role RIP

Absolutely gutted by this even though she had been ill for years and this was a release for her. I'm not a stage door person but for Jill Gascoine I would have made an exception. RIP Jill

My ATG refund came through today too so aside from a few that I'm still waiting on rescheduled dates being confirmed I'm completely up to date

On the plus side I suppose those theatres that are often at low capacity such as Charing Cross won't have too many alterations to do when they are allowed to open - they could prove to be the model for smaller audiences as other places see how it could work! They are used to running at lower audience numbers so they could be the ones to lead the way for once

Going through my vinyl collection is on the list at some point. I love vinyl and some of the things I have simply are not available on cd/streaming such as the five later Kids From Fame albums all of which I play regularly!
Feeling pleased with myself as I'm already back from the monthly shop at Asda with food put away, everything on the list actually ticked off and no queue at all - it really is the little things right now that make a difference as I loathe shopping ay any time so the speed and ease today has made the day start well

My tv is is 12 years old, basic and functional - no internet etc on it, the screen is smaller than the pc monitor and it is watched so little that if it could speak it would say it's a radio as I only usually use it for radio 2! I'm very low tech - no smartphone, laptop, ipad, just me a nokia 3310 and a 10 year old computer that is starting to ask for a retirement package. Normally not a problem as I spend a lot of time either at the theatre, out with friends or working overtime to pay for everything, home time is spent reading, writing letters to friends and a quick email/Fb check on the computer. Right now, I miss theatre, I miss my friends and I still have no desire to watch a screen - will just keep on reading, staying in touch with friends and hoping the light at the end of the tunnel will show itself soon

The streaming ones really don't work for me as I just don't enjoy watching a screen - I never go to the cinema and rarely watch tv. In a theatre I get totally absorbed and the rest of the world disappears, at home with a screen I get restless and do other things at the same time. I've tried a couple but no, not for me sadly although I seriously love the fact that so many places are making the effort to get stuff out there for us all

ATG set up a message thing on Facebook yesterday, it showed up on my feed. Message sent, now let's see how long until I get a reply and, more importantly, the refund I've already requested! Just had a response on FB to say the refund has been processed and should take up to ten days to appear. FB response came through in under 48 hours so possibly the way to go for those still waiting!

I'm sorting through things properly, taking time to look through them rather than just tidying piles of stuff as this is the first time I've been able to do so and it's amazing how many things I'm coming across that I'd forgotten about. Taking the time out to just think back, remember the occasion, who I was with etc really puts a smile on my face - and with all the stuff that needs sorting this could mean I'll still be smiling by the end of lockdown!

Would be quite happy to see Bonnie Langford, Josie Lawrence or Caroline Quentin - not the huge stars perhaps but all are great on stage and Caroline has a fabulous voice that should be more recognised. The problem we have here is that once people are known for musical theatre it's hard for them to move to film/tv so they don't become those big names whereas in the US they cross genre easily.
There are some really good performers out there who are just too young for the role as yet, I just hope they're still around in fifteen years time for all these wonderful roles

Woohoo! Several years ago Catnip books started to republish a series of books I loved as a child, number 11 of 12 came out Dec 2015 and since then I've been checking every so often for the final one - have emailed them several times and never had any response - and had pretty much given up hope. Happened to have a look on Amazon just now and it came out in January of this year. Very happy bunny now

That could be tempered by just one or two names and the rest being a mix of less known and emerging I suppose. The names really would be just to kickstart it all again in order to maintain the spaces for the emerging artists of the future - would just need careful and clear advertising. There will always be critics whatever happens, it remains to be seen whether those people consider keeping places going is of true importance and thus worth having a name or two helping to do that or would rather see them close I guess

Thanks, although Carte D'Or wins for me even if they did stop my favourite cherry flavour, also thinking that I need some solero in my life

I now feel the need for ice cream too - that's essential right, not a luxury?! Tomorrow's walk just might need to pass by Sainsburys in order to stock up, it all died in the fridge freezer breakdown and hasn't been replaced as yet!

Writing birthday cards and a few letters has made me pause and reflect not only on the fact that I'm so fortunate to have wonderful friends but to also have the time to do this properly for once and not in my lunch break at work. I consider cards to be 'hugs in envelopes' and love the idea that those hugs will be on their way to the recipients tomorrow

Perhaps if theatre starts small some of the bigger names could be involved with the smaller fringe/off west end/pub theatres to help the whole industry start up again. Many of them have links to those theatres in various ways and it would help publicise them opening up again. I remember Francesca Annis being involved with the new format Bush Theatre so why not others getting involved, let's face it no matter how much we all speculate this is a unique situation so there could be many surprise twists and turns ahead of us.

I'd be happy if it were voluntary - I know many theatres are sending emails out re donations but this could be something on the ticket purchase page so everyone has the choice. Some people would possibly pay more than the theatre would have added, some less - I'd probably do it for my favourite theatres or local ones, not necessarily for all.
Not everyone has extra cash, my basic covers basic bills but overtime covers the car costs, gifts for friends and theatre, travel etc so the amount I'm not spending on commuting is now covering the car costs such as insurance but nothing left over so donations will have to be very carefully considered for quite some time in my case.
