Is there a specific side thats better to sit on than the other? Platform 1 or 2. How does the stage work. are seats only in the middle section of each of those platforms? Any advice of where is best to sit would be appreciated. There's no theatremonkey for this theatre! I've sat on both sides and there really is no better or worse. Go for a seat as central as possible on either platform. The performers use the space in front of row A during the show so if that bothers you I'd go for row B upwards.

I second what has been said re the hip hop style of the show. I'm definitely not a hip hop fan but love the music in this show. There are hip hop elements in it but as mentioned above mainly to tell the story. A lot of the melodies in the show are absolutely beautiful. Definitely give it a shot.

Agree that it was rather chilly in there last week. Made it a bit harder to get into the "hot summer days in Washington Heights" setting of the show.

I hope they don't cancel Wimbledon. I'd be slightly disappointed.

I was in London yesterday and as my train goes out of King's Cross I made a point of going to the memorial that's been set up next to Platform 9 and 3/4. It was nice, albeit sad, to see, a strange set of emotions. I've never seen him in person, either on stage or in the audience, but loved him in the Harry Potter films. I went there last weekend when I was in the area. I only wanted to have a brief look but ended up staying for quite a while reading the cards. Lovely tribute.

Woman in Black? I went with a friend whose English isn't perfect and she had no trouble following the story.

Just booked tickets to see this in Wimbledon. I have a feeling it's going to be one of those "so bad it's good" shows. And with tickets for a tenner I thought I might as well. I'm expecting a hilarious evening. The Hoff and 80s/90s music - amazing! ;-)
Will report back.

Punchdrunk's The Drowned Man got me into immersive theatre and holds a special place in my heart. :-)

Hi all, quick question - what time would I be out from this after an 8.30 show? Completely forgot to check running time and I have a bus at 11.30!!! Feeling pretty gutted now as I think I'll have to miss it 11.05-ish if they start on time (they did the last times I went).

Haven't booked yet but will definitely go and see this. Planning to catch her on Broadway in April too.

Ham4Ham in London might be a problem if it becomes too popular. They have been struggling with the amount of people turning up on Broadway. There's probably not enough space outside most London theatres.

Personally I think it's a well done jukebox musical. There are by far worse shows around and I'm happy this is still selling well. It's not like it's nothing but a tribute concert like Thriller.

He's going to be in The Caretaker at the Old Vic. Brilliant actor!

Realised I haven't actually introduced myself yet so here goes. Steffi on the old forum, same name here. I live in Germany but travel to London fairly regularly for a theatre fix. Also love travelling to New York for some Broadway and Sleep no more. I'm a bit of a Punchdrunk geek so basically where they go and do a show I go too. I do a bit of theatre blogging in my spare time (link is in my profile).
Glad we are doing so well in keeping the community together in our new home. :-)

I haven't seen this production and although I love Guys and Dolls I'm not sure I will. The Donmar production was just so great in my opinion. I fear this one won't be able to fill those big shoes for me. Guess I'll wait for the cast annoucement for the Phoenix run and only go in case anyone interesting is doing it.

Have booked for this. Great cast! Beside Dean John Wilson and Daniel Boys I'm especially forward to seeing Stephane Anelli on stage again.

Anyone planning to see This will end badly at Southwark Playhouse (studio) next month? I've just booked. Friends saw it at the Edinburgh Fringe and highly recommended it. Plus I really liked Ben Whybrow in The Drowned Man so thought I'd give this a go. My first time seeing a show in the studio space at Southwark Playhouse.

Posted this in the original forum too but since we are slowly moving out of there I thought I'd better use this possible new home too. :-)
Anyone looking for a ticket for Funny Girl? I'm booked for the matinee on 6th February but won't use the ticket now. C21, face value £39.50 (which is what I'm looking to get). It's an e-ticket so I could just email it to whoever takes it.

Don't like having the events in the different board sections I must say. I'd rather have them all in one section. I just looked at the musicals section and didn't even realise the Phantom thread at the top was an event until I clicked on it.

Mark Isherwood is staying. Simon Adkins and Matt Thorpe are leaving. Also I've been told all girls except one are staying - not sure if that's true though.

Watched In the Heights again last night. Still my favourite show in town right now. Jocasta Almgill had to step in for Jade Ewen after the interval (Jade accidently got hit in the face by a fellow cast member during Blackout). She was brilliant. What a voice! The whole cast was fantastic. Sam Mackay and Joe Aaron Reid remain my highlights.

Also quick question - what are we doing about moderators? Matthew is a moderator on here already so we've got one for a start. I'd be happy for any of the current forum's moderators to continue on here - only if they want to, of course.

I'm going to Ramin's gig on the 19th too (and on the 20th because, well, Ramin). Also booked for In the Heights on the 18th and watching the Jersey Boys matinee on the 19th. :-)

I'm actually in London on Monday but already booked to see In the Heights. Otherwise I'd have tried for a free ticket just to see Paul Ayres as Charlie.

I've never seen his Frankie but heard good things. They weren't very nice to him when the show moved to the Piccadilly and took Joe Pesci away from him (keeping him as a swing). I'd love to see him get more recognition. He's a talented performer.
I still have a few dream performers I'd like to see in the show but sadly that probably won't happen.

I've had a look around both forums now and yes, I like this one. It's easy to navigate and has all the features we're used to (including "like this post" which I failed to find on the other forum).
