I suspect Close's team are waiting (at this point daily?) to see if she CAN do it and then are deciding at a certain point that she simply can't --- if Glenn misses much of the rest of the run, there goes her shot at doing the film, alas, which in all honesty would in any case be more merciless about the fact that she is two decades too old for the role - something that matters a lot less, of course, on stage. I do feel for ENO since it certainly isn't THEIR fault, and they aren't even producing the damn thing (the whole venture has been outsourced), so they are made to be the fall guy for a pissed-off public. Maybe frustrated playgoers should go across the road and see Kit Harington naked in FAUSTUS ? I wonder who else would be a possible Norma for the film.

I cant see this selling out any performance for months. The film its based on is not that known. Showboat hasn't sold out and that's more well known. This theatre is over double the size. I remember only 5-10 years ago the dearest seta being in the £60's range. Why have the prices increased so much.

I'm only booked for two (which Is my record) but people on here seemed booked up for many. I am planning on going Funny girl and will probably book Dreamgirls once I have persuaded someone to go with me.

Also lets not forget, if Finding Neverland transfers as expected, Laura Michelle Kelly will no doubt recieve one of the slots, and rightly so if the recording is anything to go by! I thought she wasn't doing it in London.

I suppose they don't have the spare seats to exchange everyone to before it closes.

The Hairspray tour is touring again next year. The set looks fairly basic being its a one week each theatre tour and wuld probably need a total new one to suit the west end

When I go to the theatre I like to check the cast board. To check for understudies, alternates, swings and who is playing the children part/s if any. At some theatres however the board is quite hard to find. So I thought a thread on here where people can list where the board is at a specific theatre.

Would be good to know at least some of the cast before booking. The different rumours create completely different tones for what the show would be like. Time of course by that it will be sold out. Annoying.

I wonder what the very back of the Upper circle is like. Thinking of trying to bock for either late July or mid September till end but haven't got much money for anything other than the cheapest seats. i sat on the back row for Gypsy and the front row of the upper for guys and dolls and they're not terrible seats, the rake is good so a clear view, and for £15 theres very little to complain about, its quite far back but you do get to appreciate the bigger picture for the shows plus, sitting on the front row of the upper i could see the front row of the dress and the two seats either end of the dress were empty during act one so i decided to move down to them in the interval, there is a safety rail right infant of those seats but you are eye level with the stage so I'm thinking they might be seats that are never sold and are used if there a ticketing issue. if they are free i would recommend sitting on the left side rather than the right as the right side has a box if front of you Thanks. I think these are £25 for the cheapest. I should book soon before it sells out.

Southend's Palace theatre for Hairspray in May and the New London Theatre for Show Boat in June. Will probably go to the Savoy sometime in the next year or so and will eventually do the rest I haven't been to.

I am in two words if to book for this. I saw the film once but I was still quite young and I think it went over my head. When I get time I am going to watch the film again and then decide. I wonder if it will day seat?

I was in BB, and while it was a great view of the stage you will miss a little bit of the action - there are some points where the cast come out into the aisles briefly. Also - be prepared to be bounced around during the dance numbers - the whole floor shakes! Where about is BB in auditorium. On the seating plan I have seen no BB is shown?

I cant wait either and I am not going to Mid June( I presume its selling decently enough to last till then. If it closes early I could probably rearrange to most dates through.) Id say it's fairly well known but the fact neither of the 3 film versions are out in the UK on DVD/Bluray reduces it's status.

All booked up to see this on the 18th June. Have adored the songs from this for years so am very excited. Am sitting on the side which will be a new experience. Plus in the stalls. Have only sat in the stalls for Jersey Boys in 2012( Parents got a special offer out of a magazine), every other show in the dress circle but I prefer being closer to the stage and as I am paying I am sitting where I want to sit. I wonder when the new Gaylord will be announced? And does anyone have a song list? The one on the Goodspeed opera house is wrong because Hey Feller was included in Sheffield. Here is a list of the songs from Sheffield: I loved the show in Sheffield and have booked to see it again in London - will be interested to see the new Gaylord and if any changes have been made! Also, I assume Danny Collins - who was excellent as Frank - will not be joining the company in London as he will be in Jekyll & Hyde at the Old Vic? Thanks for posting that. Rehearsals are starting tomorrow according to Emmanuel Kojo so casting should be revealed this week.

No one. I have only been to the theatre once or twice a year at most and usually shows that have been on for while or a matinee. Have travelled on the same train to a show with one of it's stars being in the same carriage. Have been to a sporting event where there were celebrities they through.
