I’m surprised no additional casting has been announced for this yet.

Here’s something I’ve always wondered about. In musical theatre I’ve noticed the MD speaks on a phone (which is usually black for some reason, the traditional chorded type) before a show starts and before the interval. I assume this is to speak to stage management to confirm they are ready to start…but I’ve noticed these calls can last for up to a few minutes which seems a long time for a quick “we’re ready”…sooo what is discussed? 🤭😀

A difficult opera to get right productionwise as well as finding a cast vocally up to the roles.

Some fantastic actors in this, may be worth the visit to this venue again (far from my favourite) Hey dreamer! Why don't you like it ? I've visited it once and wasn't impressed either. It felt like an art cafe, not a theatre. Plus not good to get to. What about you?

I don’t remember him? I think this may spell bad news for Phantom in London. Let’s hope not. IIt certainly means London will soon be indisputably the closest to The Brilliant Original - lol! That should be on the new posters!

the current Canadian Phantom whose name I didn't catch. Tim Howar, although I don't think he's currently a Phantom anywhere. He was Phantom in the West End back in 2018 I think? I don’t remember him? I think this may spell bad news for Phantom in London. Let’s hope not.

Exterior of the St Martin's (but called something else), foyer of the Dominion, auditorium of the Old Vic - it's enough to give theatre fans whiplash! Great fun though - very jolly and a great 100 mins. Ronan a delight as ever, with huge enjoyment from Ruth Wilson, Sam Rockwell and Adrien Brody St Martins is called the Ambassadors in the film, the theatre in which the Mousetrap first opened just to the left. I assume they used St Martins Lane and renamed it as the bright sign advertising the show is there (although not very 50s!). The foyers of the Dominion are lush. Wish they’d used a more opulent auditorium than the Old Vic though. Geeky bit…the set for the mousetrap as show in the film is not representative of the real show (the stairs are in the opposite side of the stage for example) and the designs are different. There’s also dialogue from the play spoken at times throughout the film, some of it is from the play, some definitely isn’t. Whilst Richard Attenborough and Shelia Simm (original leads in the show) are characters in the film, the remainder of the cast playing the small roles of the other characters in the Mousetrap bear little resemblance to the originals, but it doesn’t matter. It’s a fun film, keep an eye for little fun bits such as the reference to Tom Stoppard.

Is Adam Filipe still playing The Man? he was when i went yesterday. I'm assuming he's been on for a while because the cast board in the foyer didn't have Robert Tripolino up anymore. Thanks for the update. Adam Filipe is very talented, I saw Robert early into the run.

She was the BEST Nancy in Oliver! You could ever hope to see. Incredible. She needs to return to theatre, I don’t know why she isn’t one of our greatest leading actresses right now. She has the ability. I would sell organs to see her as Mrs Lovett, The Witch in Into The Woods or anything quite frankly. She’d be an amazing Mama Rose too. Shall we start annoying the Mill at Sonning now (who are doing Gypsy next year) 😉

The new season is nearly upon us (said in a Shakespearian voice for no reason).

Do we have anyone attending opening night tomorrow? I know some don't rate the piece but I hope that it does work for UK audiences Not much online publicity for this…let’s hope the show at least gets a good opening.

I wrongly assumed (seeing a preview) the awful Act 2 costume would be changed; given the more traditional design of the others, it's a really poor and rather odd choice. I agree it’s not glam at all, too much bank manager/air steward. Costume and wig need glamorising please 😃💅
