Buzzing to hear an audio of Ashley later! I've seen lots of negative comments but not sure if those are from people who had made their mind up that they weren't going to like her before she had even set foot on that stage.

The touts used to be lads hanging around outside venues.
Now its far more complex. It's everyday people who need two tickets but buy six when they go on sale so they can sell the rest and recoup their money but the worst touts are the artists themselves. They have seen how much money people are making from secondary markets and they want a cut. A very very famous international star told me everyone does this and it's to stop the touts. It doesn't stop the touts. They do this as well. Record companies put big chunks of tickets directly onto the resale sites to make more money.
Then, if that wasn't enough, there's the modern madness of quadruple the normal ticket price, give people a souvenier cheap tote bag and a lanyard and pretend this is a VIP experience. It's not, it's just another for of touting. Several hundred pounds to sit anywhere near the front? No thank you.

I'd much rather see something new like this than the same old tour coming round for the tenth time.

I don't think anyone would be surprised if Ashley had gone on early.
It's that kind of show!

Anyone watching her on Graham Norton?
She isn't coming across well in my opinion. The general consensus on Twitter seems to agree.

Is his version the one where the nuns played the instruments?
Is there really the demand for this to come around again? I've seen it several times in several forms and cannot imagine booking for it again, unless there was unexpectedly brilliant casting.

Nice of them to use Laura's image just days before she is replaced for a Pussy Cat Doll!

Email re Sunderland dates just mentioned Louise. Does this mean we will also get Caroline? Fingers crossed, although she certainly deserves a mention in a casting email if that is the case!

The head of costume design is the same lady who did Six and has just done the incredible costumes for the Spice Girls tour so at least one thing will be decent.

yes - for the festive season...I mean things change by the second but that is what i heard. Well, it will need to find a new Pharoah if it is. Jason Donovan's just been announced as Billy Flynn in Chicago over Christmas in Melbourne. If he doesn't make a special guest appearance in Neighbours when he is over there I will be having a tantrum!

I don't think reviews will have a huge effect on sales for this, people are generally going to the theatre less due to expense. When they go they want "bragging rights" and to say they are seeing something starring John M has bragging rights. He could be reading the phone book, it doesn't really matter.
On a similar note, I was queuing at the box office to pick up my very cheap Starry Messenger ticket earlier this week. There were a couple of middle aged ladies in front of me buying tickets. They handed over over a hundred odd pounds and only then did they ask "what is this about? Is it a musical?" They did not have a clue what they had booked and they did not really care. They just wanted to see someone famous.

The two ladies who star in this (Renee and Dove) were on the Graham Norton BBC Radio 2 show this morning. They were very engaging in their conversation and they did a really good job in selling the show.

Worth a go.
There are usually great tickets available in the stalls on the Today Tix from ten am every day in the "daily dozen" if you have no luck at the box office.

I suppose they had those two towers towards at the back with the speakers on which really helped for us in the stands. Sorry you had a bad experience.

I was in the back stand and had no problems with the sound at all. Sounded perfect to me. Oh, the pitch was way too overcrowded. I've ruled out ever doing standing again at a stadium concert sadly. I worked the Take That concerts at Wembley about 10 years back and there seemed to be plenty of room but tonight was like sardines. I have a feeling the stands may have been the best place to be, because from the pitch standing there was next to no vocals. I think the problem was they were herding everyone to one side where the other side had far more space and there was not the room to move around. I'm not a fan of standing at these kind of gigs, unless you are prepared to get there very early for a good view (and I am not prepared to anymore) then don't bother. I will have my reserved seat, thanks. Seating/standing apart, I've not seen the Spice Girls in the region since they aged at the Metro Radio party in the 90s, I loved the show. Such a great and friendly atmosphere where I was. Great mix of songs and great staging. I did wonder if Take That's Kim Gavin was involved as the staging was similar in many ways to Take That's recent tours, they have a globe on their current tour too 😉

Just seen Maria Coyne is making her Anna debut tonight. Anyone there? How annoying that it clashed with the Spice Girls at Sunderland Stadium. I wasn't missing that for anyone 😉

You're not a fan? Fine.
I'm not a fan of many people but I don't feel the need to post in their thread to say how terrible I think they are.

At that point an announcement said the show would start in 10 minutes (so no chance of a glass of something cold and delicious) I was hoping for the same but then I saw that drinks were seven pound. Madness. Didn't stop people near continually disrupting us to get out to buy more overpriced drinks though.
