Fabulous evening at the 10th Birthday Show!! The evening began with an introduction from Dennis Kelly and Tim Minchin. There was a party atmosphere throughout and many former cast members - including 42 past Matildas - were in attendance!
The show is simply wonderful - I want a go on the swings - and seats A2 & A3 in the stalls had oodles of legroom!!!
There were also goody bags on every seat!!
Superb evening!

You can pick up lateral flow tests from pharmacies. Or you can order them to be delivered to your home from the gov.uk website. I do two a week as I work with some vulnerable people and I want to make sure I am not asymptomatic before I visit. Lateral Flow Tests are used by those showing no symptoms as 1 in 3 can be infectious with no symptoms.
With the government fudging the messaging on masks, this is a sensible shout from AGT to mitigate against the spreading of Covid.
On a different note, the school my kids attend is now classed as an outbreak school because of the number of cases amongst children. Several classes were sent for PCR testing (with parents taking them) in an attempt to see the spread of it akin to the community surge testing that has taken place in various places in the UK through the pandemic. They are now back to staggered starts and year bubbles to try and keep the school open.
Back to the show - really looking forward to seeing it in a couple of weeks time!! Can’t wait!!

I think so - I’d be surprised if there wasn’t higher prices, it’s raising cash for charity.
Les Mis had one on its 30th (I think) for Save the Children - £300 tickets on a lottery for £50 per ticket, 100 at £100 and 50 at £500.
Then there’s some that have done gala birthday performances at their original prices! Miss Saigon for one!

Am sure other shows, producers and composers have held charity gala evenings of their shows to raise money for charities before this one. It’s a great way of highlighting a charity, raising much needed cash and, yes, it also raises the profile of a show.

Me and my kids had a great evening at the show on Thursday! Fabulous fun and they loved every minute of it!!!
Admit I was feeling nervous about being back in a full theatre, but mask wearing throughout the Dress Circle - where we were sat - seemed to be near 100%.

Saw the play this evening thanks to winning a freebie ticket via Twitter from Cambridge Arts. Not my usual choice of show(!), but I enjoyed it as an imagined conversation between Graham Greene and Kim Philby on the evening they actually met in Moscow in 1987. Recounted their lives as spies, Philby’s work for the KGB whilst working for MI6. Poignant in places as they reminisced with some humour infused too.
Received a signed copy of the script too so shall read that alongside some wider reading of people and an era I know little of.

I’ve got ‘The Play that Goes Wrong’ booked for the summer holidays with the children thanks to Kids Week. Nosebleed seats for ‘Hamilton’ in November - there’ll be some more in November but plenty of time to book at the moment..!. Finally, sneaking into 2022, taking the kids to see ‘The Lion King’ in January when my wife is back from her deployment abroad with the forces!!!

Sat in Row E in the Dress Circle at the Mousetrap - first trip back to the theatre - and the people in the box behind me were horribly behaved. In and out of the door and talking loudly to each other. Such fun!

Seeing the official cast photos released today- they all look awfully young! Lol!!! I know what you mean... We were visiting our sons new school a couple of weeks back and got a bit lost outside the grounds. Asked some young lads for direction enquiring if they were students too (thinking sixth form students) and they replied, “No we’re staff..!” Felt VERY old that day....

From Blackpool Grands pantomime website:
“Martin Dodd for UK Productions in association with Blackpool Grand Theatre proudly present PANTOMONIUM! written by Jon Monie. Starring Britain’s Got Talent Finalist Steve Royle, West End and Emmerdale star Tom Lister, TVs Milkshake! host Olivia Birchenough and EastEnders Nick Wilton.
Join us for a riotous romp through pantomime and purchase your Digital Pass for just £25.50 per household. Watch as many times as you like until the 31 January 2021.”
Planning to get the pass to watch this - lived on the Fylde coast for 13 years and the pantos at the Grand with Steve Royal were a definite highlight!!!

Received my credit note with the explanations of what I could do and what shows were available to book...
Looked at dates in January and thought they were still packing loads of people in - looked like they were still booking at more than 50% capacity - so decided against it and went for a refund instead!!!

Have I made this up or was Jane McDonald in Cats in Blackpool? Jane McDonald was in the most recent Blackpool sitting for six weeks in summer 2015.
